Paul, formerly known as Saul, persecuted Christians but later wrote the book of Romans to the church. In Romans, he explains righteousness through Jesus and His fulfillment of the law. Like the Israelites, we are set apart and rooted in Christ through faith. As Paul says, “the word is in our mouth and in our heart, that is that word of faith that we preach” (Romans 8:8). Confessing Jesus with your mouth and believing in your heart that He rose from the dead saves you. “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). Lastly, Paul emphasizes that there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, as the same Lord is rich to all who call upon Him (Romans 12:12). So, call on the name of the Lord and be saved!
