Our culture tells us to do more, move faster, maximize our efficiency, and somehow fit more into every day. But what if wisdom begins by accepting a simple reality: we are limited?

In the final episode of their series on wisdom and discernment, Kendra and Kyler explore what it means to live faithfully within the limits God has given us.

Together, they discuss:

  • Why our limitations are part of God’s good creation, not simply a result of the fall

  • How our desire to overcome every limit can reveal an illusion of self-sufficiency

  • Why productivity and efficiency can be good gifts without becoming measures of our worth

  • How to discern between limits we should accept and areas where God may be stretching us

  • Why saying yes to one good thing necessarily means saying no to something else

  • Three helpful questions: What belongs to me? What belongs to God? What belongs to others?

  • How our gifts and callings help us discern what is—and isn’t—ours to do

  • Why our limits are an invitation to depend on the body of Christ

  • How busyness can make us impatient, irritable, and unavailable to the people around us

  • Why faithfulness may look different in different seasons of life

  • How the four walls of discernment can help us ask, “Am I too busy?”

Wisdom doesn’t mean figuring out how to hack our way out of being human. It means learning to live faithfully within God’s design—receiving our time, bodies, responsibilities, relationships, and even our limitations as gifts to steward.

Our limits remind us that we are creatures, not God. And rather than diminishing us, they invite us into dependence: on the God who sustains us and on the people He has given us.

Mentioned on the Show

Next Step: Take an honest look at your calendar this week and ask three questions:

  • What belongs to me?

  • What belongs to God?

  • What belongs to others?

Consider the responsibilities God has actually given you in this season—and where you may be carrying something that isn’t yours to carry. You might also ask: If I were unexpectedly given a free hour today, what would my heart immediately want to do with it? What does that reveal about what is driving me?

Bring those reflections into community and invite someone who knows you well to help you discern what faithfulness looks like in your current season.
