Why do we resist change? Even when we know something is no longer serving us? Sometimes the hardest thing to doisn't fight harder. It's let go.
In this episode of Diary of a Shadow Healer, we explore the Neptune Archetype and the psychology of surrender, attachment, illusion, and release. Neptune asks us to loosen our grip. Not because what we're releasing never mattered, but because sometimes we've simply outgrown it.
Through the story of Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, we explore what happens when releasing one path creates space for another. Then we turn toward Neptune's shadow through the mythology of the Sirens and the seductive promise that keeps us holding on: onemore chance, one more tomorrow, one more wave.
We'll explore what happens when familiarity begins to feel safer than change, how outdated identities and dreams can become difficult to release, and how shadow work can help us recognize what we're still carrying long after it has served its purpose.
This episode also includes a shadow work prompt to help you ask: What outdated belief, identity, or dream am I still carrying even though I've outgrown it? And perhaps the harder question: Who might I become if I finally let it go?
Because sometimes letting go isn't losing something. Sometimes it's finally making room for what's next.
Welcome to Diary of a Shadow Healer. This is the place where your shadows find their voice.
