Hell answers to us, for we are The Who Goes There Podcast! We're back!

Earlier this year A24 released this 90 minute flick about a paranormal podcaster and her impaired co-host who take a deep dive into some anonymously sent audio files. And yes, of course our protagonist is dealing with some serious emotional issue, in this case being the caretaker of her bed-ridden/terminally ill mother... make sure to show pictures and little figurines of the Virgin Mary because that's thematic and scary doooooooood.

The film promises slow-burn thrills, auditory dread and immersive sound design. Does it deliver? Do the character interactions which are MOST OF THE MOVIE feel natural and unforced and give us a reason to care?

"Don't be afraid of the dark. Be afraid of the silence." It's The Who Goes There Podcast Episode 451!!!

As orange rapist continues to appease his handlers and inches ever close to the gaping jaws of oblivion, the Mandalorian and Gulag is shown up in historic fashion by two indie horror movies, and it is glorious.

But we digress, this episode is a double review of 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE and the first Sam Raimi directed horror (horror comedy) film in 17 years, SEND HELP.

"The others, my peeps -- I told them that you were Old Nick, but you aren't, and now they're expecting to meet you...and you're in a bit of a bind too, because if you can't help me with my problem, I'm going to force-feed you your own intestines until you can no longer breathe." It's The Who Goes There Podcast Episode 450! Yes, that's right, number four hundred and goddamn fifty.

The 21st century has graced us with many questionable or misguided (or just fucking awful) PG13 sequels, reboots, or remakes to the pantheon of 1980's scifi/horror/ action hybrid classics:

2004: Alien Vs Predator
2009: Terminator Salvation
2012: Total Recall
2014: RoboCop
2015: Terminator Genisys

There's also quite a few which retained the R ratings of their predecessors, with varying results:

2003: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
2007: Aliens Vs Predator- Requiem
2010: Predators
2012: Prometheus
2017: Alien: Covenant
2018: The Predator
2019: Terminator: Dark Fate
2022: Prey
2024: Alien: Romulus

This episode we discuss PREDATOR: BADLANDS, Dan Trachtenberg's follow up to Prey and the animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers, both of which the three of us enjoyed quite a bit.

Is it ruined by the Disneyfication? Does Trachtenberg pull off this PG-13 Predator film, the first to feature a Yautja as the protagonist, or does it join the trash pile of some prior attempts?

"Welcome to the most dangerous planet in the universe, where everything is trying to kill you", it's the Who Goes There Podcast Episode 448!

Imagine if you will, our glorious military industrial complex merging with the capabilities of advanced AI and unleashing an omnipresent surveillance state. Tonight we sleep under the watchful eye of drones roving overhead ready to spray fentanyl-laced piss on any dissenters below!

"I conjured this from my hate and from whatever memories Hell let me keep", it's the Who Goes There Podcast, episode 447!!!

This episode we review the entire debut season of Noah Hawley's ALIEN: EARTH series; the good, the bad, the amazing, the baffling, the stuff that provokes reasonable comparisons to bullshit in Jurassic World that we wish didn't exist, all of it!

"You used to be food, you know. Humanity. Your lives were short and filled with fear. Then your brains grew. You built tools and used them to conquer nature... But in the animal kingdom, there is always someone bigger, or smaller, who would eat you alive...", it's The Who Goes There Podcast Episode 446!!!

This episode we get into the 2009 NIGHT OF THE DEMONS remake. Why? Because it's got fucking Edward Furlong and because King Hans, benevolent lord of our Patreon, demanded it! This fine film also gives us the opportunity to revisit our thoughts on horror remakes of the 00's.

"First, I'm gonna poke his pretty brown eyes out and then, I'm gonna fuck his brains out until they're spilling out of his ears. And then, right before he dies, right before he becomes one of us...*transforms into a demon* he shall know the suffering in death. Shut up, bitch!" It's the Who Goes There Podcast Episode 445!!!
