We saw it. We hated it. We discuss By Any Means, the new Mark Wahlberg movie that tries and drastically fails to turn a true civil rights story into a buddy cop revenge thriller. A movie so bad we had to invite on our first white guest! We break it all the way down. ALSO! If you'd like to watch us, the video is up now on your Youtube channel (Youtube.com/@white_pod).

Also check out our other socials @whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod on IG and TikTok. We'll be discussing our first book in our book club soon and much more!

Back again with another new episode and a movie that really pushed the limits of our sanity. Streetballers is a perfect example of why we do this podcast. A movie that combines all of the wildest white savior tropes with the hubris of a white filmmaker who thinks he knows Black culture. Joining us for this insanity is our friend D'Marcus from the Black Geek Energy podcast.

Together we discuss if it's possible to burn a copy of GTA: San Andreas onto a cd, if true hell is becoming a ghost stuck in some white man's imagination and play a new game and guess which white savior movies are real.

Check out Black Geek Energy wherever you get your podcasts and join D'Marcus and Jared as they discuss all kinds of nerdy things, from video games to comics to movies, all from a Black geek perspective.

We'll be back again next week with two more crazy episodes as we play a little catch up. The first is the South African film probably beloved by Elon Musk as a kid Yankee Zulu and the other is maybe the leader in our worst movie we ever watched category, Loqueesha. See you then!

Apologies! We've had a few technical issues but we've got an all timer for you coming from the depths of white savior hell. Shadrach is a painful watch. Not simply because of the subject matter (a 99 year old slave WALKS from Alabama to Virginia to die on the plantation he was born on) but for the fact that they treat this full grown Black man like a prop.

We dig into the history of the short story the film is based on, what kind of horrible make-up job they did on this man and read some of the absolutely insane reviews people left for this film.

Join our book club! Follow us on the socials to see our reading list and catch us discussing our first book (Toni Morrison's Language as Liberation) very soon. Follow us at whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod on Instagram and TikTok for more! Also, we'll have another episode out this Thursday as we catch up on our schedule so stay tuned for that!

Does white savior nonsense feel good in a place like this? We welcome Nicole Kidman to the pod for the first time as we discuss 2005's The Interpreter. Joined by the super talented Brandon V. Fletcher to help us discuss what makes a good political thriller, where Nicole Kidman got that African flute from, and more!

Check out more of Brandon's pop culture thoughts at The Critic's Collective and also check out his website to see his animation work!

You can follow us on IG and TiKTok at @whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod and join our book club as we read through a number of great fiction and non fiction books focused on community, liberation, and identity! We'll be back next week with more caucacity!

We're back! Again! Sorry for another delay, we've both been busy (in good ways) but the good news is we have a bunch of episodes ready to go! Reaching back a bit into the vault, we bring you Conspiracy, a 2008 film staring Val Kilmer and some very...interesting politics.

We discuss maybe the most uncomfortable sex scene we've had to watch, knives vs guns, and Jack Harlow's many hats.

Follow us on IG and Bluesky to keep up with our book club! We've picked out some books to read and discuss for the rest of the year, so read as many or as few as you'd like and we'll post our discussion schedule soon. Hope everyone is having a good summer so far, we'll be back next week (we promise) with more caucacity!

Another one from the vaults! We take you back to simpler times, when Sinners was about to win a couple Oscars (but not all the ones it should have) as we discuss a movie we like to call White Sinners aka 1986's Crossroads. Starring Ralph Macchio, directed by the man who also did 48 Hours and The Warriors, we get a movie about a white boy who becomes the greatest blues player of all time.

We talk about the horniest magical negro to ever grace a film, the optics of a film that so deeply misunderstands the blues and Black culture, and we even get a new slur!

Check out our socials where we'll be dropping our summer reading list for our book club, dropping our discussion of Drake's terrible Iceman album, and much more! Follow us at @whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod on IG and TikTok and we'll see you soon for more caucacity!

We've got a gem from the archives today! The Last Boy Scout (1991) has one of the craziest opening sequences we've ever seen. A banger song, PCP, and Billy Blanks with the blicky, all in a matter of 5 minutes. The rest of the movie is downhill from here as we discuss sleepy Bruce Willis, the total misuse of Halle Berry, and the logistics of shooting a football from a horse. This weeks caucacity is a bit dated but also fuck Aidin Ross.

We've got some plans for the summer! Book club finally, some streaming and some fun mini episodes! More to come soon but keep up with us on IG and TikTok at @whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod! We'll be back soon with more caucacity!

It's been a while, but we're back! Sorry for the break, life got busy but we're back and we've got some bangers ready for you! Starting off with Woody Allen's second feature film, 1971's Bananas. What a mess this movie is! More about Woody Allen having sex than the plot which seemingly is about him bumbling into being the dictator of a Latin American country.

Part of our break was retooling some things to be better about sharing stuff on our socials, so be on the look out for us on IG and TikTok at @whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod or on Bluesky @WPWSY. We'll have videos and extra content about upcoming films so jump in with us!

We will be back next week (NEXT WEEK) with 1991's The Last Boy Scout, the movie where Billy Blanks snorts pcp and shoots someone during Monday Night Football. And that's just the first 5 minutes!
