Scripture Reference: John 1:43–51
This week, we celebrate a massive milestone: our 2-year anniversary as a church family! Looking back at everything God has done over the past two years, Pastor JT takes us back to the simple, life-changing encounter between Jesus, Philip, and Nathanael in John 1.
Through this powerful story, we are reminded of the heart of the Gospel that built this church from day one: While you were still… Jesus saw you, knew you, and loved you anyway. You don't have to clean yourself up to come to Him; He invites you to experience His grace right where you are.
Three Words Can Change Someone’s Forever (vv. 43–46): When Nathanael expressed doubt about Jesus, Philip didn't enter into a heated argument or theological debate. He simply offered three life-changing words: "Come and see." Simple, loving invitations to experience Jesus carry eternal weight.
Come as You Are (vv. 46–47): Jesus didn't demand that Nathanael fix his skepticism or change his posture before approaching Him. Jesus meets us exactly as we are—doubts, questions, baggage, and all—because His love precedes our performance.
Jesus Saw You While You Were Still… (vv. 48–51): Before Philip ever called Nathanael, Jesus saw him sitting under the fig tree. Long before you ever thought about turning to God, Jesus saw your struggles, knew your secret heart, and loved you unconditionally.
As we look forward to the future of our church, Pastor JT challenged us to respond to Jesus' invitation:
Who is in your life that is still where you used to be, waiting for someone to offer those three simple words—come and see? Who can you invite to church or introduce to Jesus this week?
What is keeping you from fully following Him and stepping into the waters of baptism to prove it? Jesus isn't waiting for you to have everything figured out; He already knows you completely and is calling you to follow Him today.
