What’s Clear to Me is a life podcast hosted by Dr. Brian Amorello, featuring Dr. Konstantin Lukin. NEW EPISODES EVERY WEDNESDAY! Brian is a psychologist, author, football fanatic, traveler, and gay dude who is often far more interested in what happens outside the therapy room than inside it. The show is about real life — relationships, emotions, travel, bad decisions, hard lessons, and the moments that somehow make more sense once you’ve survived them. Konstantin brings another perspective and isn’t afraid to challenge Brian along the way. Expect real stories, real opinions, humor, uncomfortable conversations, and very little pretending that anyone has life completely figured out. Brian is also the author of the forthcoming memoir, Passport Stamps and Red Flags: How I Failed Out of College, Earned a PhD, and Kept Dating the Wrong Men — so questionable decisions are not exactly in short supply. If the truth is awkward, funny, messy, or mildly incriminating, it’s probably fair game. At the end of every episode, Brian answers the question that gives the show its name: So… what’s clear to me? Perspective changes everything.

In this episode of What's Clear to Me, Dr. Brian Amorello explores the complicated world of relationships, from the ones that hurt us to the ones that help us grow. Brian opens up about his experiences with physically and psychologically abusive relationships, how those experiences contributed to his struggles in college, and what he eventually learned about fear, control, resilience, and self-worth. Later, he's joined by his supervisee, Dr. Sherlenne Francisco, and her husband, Youseff, who share their story of reconnecting through social media as teenagers, building a life together, and navigating marriage and new parenthood. From communication and power struggles to the challenges of being married to a psychologist, the conversation offers a very different perspective on love and partnership. The episode closes with a candid discussion about dating red flags, self-sabotage, and whether being single really needs an explanation. Because relationships aren't always easy, but they don't have to be painful to be meaningful.

What does it mean to live a good life when nothing goes according to plan? In the premiere of What's Clear to Me, I share how academic setbacks, difficult relationships, and unexpected opportunities shaped my journey from struggling college student to psychologist and author. Dr. Konstantin Lukin joins me to discuss emotional resilience, making sense of painful experiences, and why effective therapy takes more than simply talking about feelings. Then I welcome my first guests: my parents, Nick and Brenda. Their marriage ended after my mother's infidelity with someone in my father's family, a betrayal that also fractured family relationships. After 13 years apart, they reunited together. Together, we talk candidly about loneliness, accountability, forgiveness, financial realities, motorcycles, and what life looks like when you choose to begin again. Finally, Konstantin and Lukin Center executive director Gabriele Milani join me for some fun and interesting audience questions. From football and family stories to personal growth and solo travel, this episode is about owning every chapter of your story, even the ones you'd never have written for yourself. There are laughs, hard truths, and surprises.
