  • ”We‘re BACK!” What The Film? Ep. 6 -Dave Kendall
    Sep 21 2021

After a long hiatus on What the Film, we're back with Aaron and his dad, talking through his films and just enjoying each others company, over some drinks of course. This episode was recorded on the 13 March 2021, so may be outdated slightly.

Dave and Aaron dicsuss the new Dune film and how Denis Villeneuve is potentially Hollywood's next big hitting director, Dad talks about how a reimagining of In The Heat of the Night could be accomplished and the disappointment of a specific Roger Moore film (Spoiler: its not a James Bond film). Dad recommends the original versions of Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy made by the BBC in the 1970s. Aaron gives Pontypool, a low-nudget yet underrated horror-thriller that managed to peak Aaron's interest.

  • What The Film? Ep. 5 - Toby Harper
    Mar 9 2021

What the Film is back (again) and features a brand new guest; Toby Harper! A good friend of Aaron from his time at University, Toby boasts his impressive knowledge and love of film in this episode.

Aaron and Toby talk about the Star Wars franchise , when compared to other fantasy series, just doesn't compare with the fan-base occasionally being particularly toxic. James bond gets analysed by Toby and Aaron and they debate how he has changed though the years (for better or for worse), Toby discuss's why kids films can sometimes be more detrimental than good and how James Corden is porbably to blame and why About Time always manages to shed a tear from him. Aaron recommends a few films to Toby, both of which include a certain wacky Nicolas Cage.

    Nov 9 2020

What The Film?! is back after a short hiatus! Episode 4 welcomes Jon Wall, close friend and avid blockbuster fan. Aaron and Jon talk about how Christopher Nolan is possibly the greatest film director of all time, but there is some debate between whether Inception (2010) or Interstellar (2014) is the superior film. Jon also talks about how Shrek could be the best thing ever made if a live-action version were created, Aaron gives credit to 2-time Oscar nominated director Todd Phillips and they both discuss how Rom-Coms could be the greatest film guilty pleasure.
