  • The Clancy Trial: Mental Health, Motherhood & Who Gets Grace
    Sep 22 2026

This week, the group chat is taking on one topic—and it’s a heavy one.

We’re talking about the Clancy case and the conversations surrounding postpartum mental health, accountability, motherhood, race, and who society chooses to extend grace to.

Rather than trying to report the case or play armchair experts, we’re using it as the starting point for a much bigger conversation.

Drea brings her experience from working in the mental health field and talks about how pregnancy and childbirth can affect a woman’s mental health in very different ways. Keya questions whether race plays a role in the public sympathy surrounding cases like this. And Vonnie wrestles with where compassion for mental illness ends and accountability for the harm caused begins.

    We get into:

    • Postpartum depression, psychosis, and how serious mental health changes can become
    • Whether someone can be both mentally ill and still accountable for their actions
    • The role race may play in who receives sympathy and understanding
    • Why motherhood is often judged differently depending on who the mother is
    • The difference between understanding someone’s mental state and excusing what happened
    • The uncomfortable question of who gets grace—and who doesn’t

This is an ongoing court case, and the facts and legal proceedings may continue to change. We’re not lawyers, doctors, or journalists. These are our personal reactions and opinions based on what we knew at the time of recording.

As always, we’re doing what we do best: talking about what’s being talked about in the group chat.

💬 Where do you think compassion for mental illness and personal accountability meet?

  • Career Advice We Wish We Knew In Our 20s
    Sep 15 2026

What do a social worker, a technical project manager, and a daycare business owner have in common? A whole lot of career lessons we had to learn the hard way.

This week, we’re talking about our very different career paths and sharing the advice we wish somebody had given us in our 20s. Drea breaks down the realities of social work—from education and burnout to boundaries and finding the right lane. Vonnie talks about building a career in tech and project management, the importance of networking and staying curious, and why learning to work with AI may be one of the smartest career moves you can make. And after 22 years in childcare, Keya has plenty to say about entrepreneurship, knowing your worth, setting boundaries with customers, and learning that all money ain’t good money.

We also get into changing careers, degrees vs. certifications, being willing to start down a path without knowing exactly where it will lead, and navigating the workplace as women of color.

Whether you're just starting your career, thinking about making a change, or wondering what your next move should be, come join the group chat. Because apparently we did learn a few things along the way. 😂

What career advice do you wish you could give your 20-year-old self?

  • Don't Sit in Dysfunction
    May 19 2026

This episode started with a TikTok clip… and quickly turned into a much deeper conversation about marriage, religion, abuse, self-worth, and knowing when it’s time to leave.

    We talk openly about:

    • The pressure some women feel to “just pray on it”
    • How religion can sometimes be used to encourage women to stay in unhealthy situations
    • The difference between faith and manipulation
    • Emotional abuse, control, and isolation within relationships
    • Why discernment matters just as much as belief
    • And the dangerous idea that suffering somehow makes you a “better” wife or Christian woman

This wasn’t a conversation about attacking religion. It was a conversation about using wisdom, reading for yourself, and not losing yourself trying to save a relationship.

At the center of the discussion was one question:

Why are women sometimes taught to endure dysfunction instead of recognizing when it’s time to walk away?

And one thing became very clear:

“I am not going to sit in dysfunction.”

This episode is emotional, layered, uncomfortable at times, and very honest.

Join the conversation: Do you think people are sometimes encouraged to stay in unhealthy relationships for the sake of appearances, religion, or fear of failure?

  • Religion vs Spirituality
    May 26 2026

This conversation started with relationships, faith, and emotional safety… but turned into a deeper discussion about religion, spirituality, judgment, and personal growth.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Religion vs spirituality and how people define both differently
    • Church hurt and judgment inside religious spaces
    • The pressure some women feel to stay in unhealthy relationships
    • Respecting different belief systems without forcing them on others
    • Buddhism, mindfulness, Christianity, and personal growth
    • Why some people leave organized religion but still believe in God
    • And the importance of researching and thinking for yourself instead of blindly following what people tell you

This episode is thoughtful, emotional, honest, and surprisingly healing at times.

At the center of it all was one simple idea:

Different beliefs do not have to stop people from loving and respecting each other.

  • Keya Back On The Hot Seat
    May 13 2026

Episode 11: Keya Back On The Hot Seat

We’re revisiting Episode 2 because after listening back… we realized we barely scratched the surface.

This time, Keya opens up more about her second divorce, what counseling did (and didn’t) fix, learning to recognize red flags, and how faith shaped the way she approached marriage and relationships.

The conversation naturally turns into something even bigger: What happens when you still believe in love… but also love your peace? Can you be independent for too long? Do people really change? And how do relationships feel different in your 40s?

As always, the group chat keeps it real while remaining positive—with honesty, laughter, disagreement, and lived experience.

    🎙️ Topics include:

    • Divorce and emotional healing
    • Counseling vs religious guidance
    • Dating after marriage
    • Fear of commitment
    • Boundaries and red flags
    • Marriage, independence, and companionship

  • Group Chat Energy… No Structure
    May 5 2026

We had a plan for this episode… and then completely ignored it 😂

If you’ve ever been in a group chat, you already know— the conversation never stays where it started.

One minute we’re talking about one thing… next minute we’re somewhere completely different

That’s exactly what this episode is.

In this episode, we get into:

    • Random stories and real-life moments
    • Relationships, dating, and everything in between
    • Being single vs being in a relationship
    • Life in our 40s and how things have changed
    • And the kind of conversations that just happen when you’re comfortable with your people

No script. No structure. Just real conversation.

Because sometimes the best talks are the ones you never planned.
