What if the reason you keep editing yourself, overthinking what to say, or waiting until you feel more confident isn't that you're not ready… but that you're trying to control how people see you?
In this episode of Before You Change Everything…, I'm sharing my own experience of trying to show up as the polished, put-together version of myself, and what happened when I started letting people see more of the real me.
Because putting yourself out there means accepting something uncomfortable: you can have the best intentions, express yourself honestly, and still be misunderstood, judged, or disliked.
And if you're someone who's used to getting things right, that can be hard to sit with.
We'll explore:
- Why other people's opinions can feel so personal
- How our attempts to manage how we're perceived can keep us from showing up fully
- What it means to build enough self-trust that someone else's perspective doesn't shake your sense of who you are
Because the goal isn't to stop caring what people think. It's about learning to care without letting their opinions define you.
So the next time you find yourself holding back, ask yourself: What am I afraid I'll feel if I let myself be seen?
And what might become possible if I stopped trying so hard to protect myself from that feeling?
