In the grand finale of our series, What God Says About Your Money, Pastor JT lands on the ultimate spiritual purpose of our finances: Generosity.
Giving isn't a transactional obligation or a tool to manipulate God into blessing us; it is a spiritual practice designed to loosen money's grip on our lives. When we give freely, sacrificially, and joyfully, our hearts begin to mirror the matchless generosity of our Heavenly Father.
How Should We Give?
In Secret: With the right motive, seeking God's approval rather than human applause (Matthew 6:1–4).
With a Smile, Not a Sigh: God loves a cheerful giver, not one driven by guilt or compulsion (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Big, Before, and on Repeat: Giving should be generous (2 Corinthians 9:6), prioritized first off the top (Proverbs 3:9–10), and practiced as a consistent rhythm (1 Corinthians 16:1–2).
Why Should We Give?
Generosity stores up eternal treasure in heaven (Matthew 6:19–21), unlocks Kingdom growth (Proverbs 11:24–25), and invites God's blessing (Proverbs 19:17). Above all, it steps us into the truth of Acts 20:35: It is more blessed to give than to receive.
What & Where Should We Give?
Scriptural giving spans the Tithe (10% back to God), the Offering (voluntary gifts above the tithe), and Sacrificial Giving (giving beyond our comfort zone as the Spirit leads).
We prioritize funding the local church, advancing missions and church plants, serving those in need, and providing for our own families.
Pastor JT closes this series by bringing us face-to-face with the grace of the Gospel:
Where is your heart still unaligned with God in your finances? Are you living beyond your means, hoarding instead of saving, or withholding the gifts He has entrusted to you?
