Lanterns Season 1 Finale - I Love You To Junior
    Oct 6 2026
The Lanterns season finale finally answers who killed Hal Jordan — and John Stewart becomes the Green Lantern. Chanel, Brandon & Sharmane break it all down. 🟢Welcome back to We Was Watching, the podcast where Chanel, Brandon & Sharmane break down the shows everyone's talking about. This week we're recapping the Lanterns Season 1 finale (Episode 8), "Dirt and Stars" — the HBO Max episode that closes the murder mystery and completes John Stewart's origin story. We get into ALL of it: the reveal that Noah Macon is the true last Manhunter, Noah kidnapping John and then asking to be mercy-killed, and John's choice to let him live. We break down the real answer to who killed Hal — Sheriff Kerry Kane, out of fear for her Manhunter son — and the quiet, grace-filled confrontation instead of the big CGI brawl. Plus the Halogram resisting Sinestro's resurrection deal, Hal's bittersweet "I love you too, Junior" goodbye, Guy Gardner's return, and John finally taking the oath on his own terms to become Earth's Green Lantern. We talk Sinestro's loose ends, the yellow "fear" lantern, what it means that John's next appearance is in 2027's Man of Tomorrow, and whether Season 2 is happening. Full spoiler-filled review, breakdown, and ending explained.Hit play and watch along with us. ▶️👍 Enjoyed this recap? • Lanterns Season 1 Episode 7 - The Jordan Boys Legacy

Lanterns Season 1 Episode 7 - The Jordan Boys Legacy
    Sep 29 2026

Lanterns just reframed everything we thought about Hal Jordan — Chanel, Brandon & Sharmane recap the penultimate episode, "The Jordan Boys' Legacy." 🟢

Welcome back to We Was Watching, the podcast where Chanel, Brandon & Sharmane break down the shows everyone's talking about. This week we're recapping Lanterns Season 1 Episode 7 — the HBO Max episode that traces Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) back to his childhood and turns the murder mystery on its head.

We get into ALL of it: young Hal, his father Martin, and the "Jordan boys' legacy" passed down through the family; how that backstory reshapes everything we've seen from Hal all season; and John (Aaron Pierre) teaming with the Halogram to investigate — a partnership that finally shows what these two could have been. We break down the trip through the lockbox portal, the dying alien world, Sinestro taking the Halogram hostage, and the biggest question of all: was Hal even murdered? We walk through the top suspects — Noah, Sheriff Kerry, and Hal himself — heading into the finale. Full spoiler-filled review, breakdown, and ending explained.
