A proposito di questo titolo

We Saw the Devil is the podcast that refuses to separate murder from power, violence from policy, and crime from the systems that create it. Hosted by Robin, a veteran true crime researcher and political commentator, We Saw the Devil digs into the cases that expose the rot at the heart of American institutions.

This isn't your typical true crime podcast. We don't just ask "who did it" — we ask who allowed it, who covered it up, who profited, and whose bodies are always the ones that end up in the ground. From serial killers protected by police to political violence disguised as law enforcement, from cold cases buried by corruption to state sanctioned murder carried out in broad daylight — We Saw the Devil connects the dots between crime, politics, and power that other podcasts won't touch.
What makes this show different:

Every case exists within systems — police departments, courts, prisons, immigration enforcement, political machines. We examine those systems.

Cases others won't cover. Police killings. Political assassinations. Government adjacent violence. Crimes committed by the powerful against the powerless.
Deep research, not just Wikipedia. Court documents. FOIA requests. Original interviews. First person sources. We do the work.
No cop worship. We respect victims and survivors. We don't lionize law enforcement or assume the official story is true.
Intersections of crime and politics. How true crime and political crime overlap: corruption, cover ups, state violence, and the bodies left behind.

Episodes covered:
Cold cases and unsolved murders
Serial killers and the systems that enabled them
Police violence and law enforcement killings
Political crimes and government corruption
Missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW)
Immigration enforcement and border deaths
Wrongful convictions and prosecutorial misconduct
Historical true crime with modern political resonance
Breaking cases with political dimensions

If you believe that true crime isn't just entertainment, that understanding violence means understanding power...this is your podcast.

  • Why Republicans Fall in Line and Democrats Fall Apart
    Jan 20 2026
For this episode, Robin examines the fundamental differences between liberalism and progressivism and why understanding this divide is critical for 2028.

Key topics include: Why Republicans fall in line while Democrats fracture over purity tests, the data showing disruptive protest tactics reduce public support by 15%, and how protest votes intended to help Gaza enabled Trump's return and Gaza's devastation.

With 31 Nobel laureates warning about fascism, Yale historians fleeing to Canada, and a Democracy Index rating the U.S. at 55/100 (authoritarian territory), ideological purity has become dangerous. With democracy itself at stake, coalition building must supersede purity politics.

In this episode, Robin argues that while liberals and progressives share end goals, such as universal healthcare, climate action, workers' rights, racial justice...their strategic disagreements determine electoral outcomes.

Compromise isn't betrayal; it's how democracy functions.

Keywords: liberal vs progressive, democratic party divide, why democrats lose elections, electoral strategy 2028, progressive purity politics, coalition building, capitalism vs socialism, free speech vs cancel culture, identity politics, incrementalism vs revolution, protest tactics effectiveness, political compromise, Gaza protest votes, Republican electoral strategy, swing state politics, moderate vs progressive, political pragmatism, deplatforming debate, working class voters, political podcast, 2028 election analysis, authoritarianism warning, voting strategy, ideological purity critique

  • The United States: Where We Can Buy Greenland But Can't Afford Groceries
    Jan 18 2026
This week: NATO threats, depression-era meals, and a timeline of authoritarianism that reads like dystopian fiction...except it's all real.

Robin breaks down Trump's Greenland obsession and the threat of military action against our own NATO allies. Eight European countries are getting tariffs because they won't help us invade Denmark. When Emmanuel Macron is comparing you to Putin, maybe it's time to reassess.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins (net worth: $15 million) wants you to know you can feed yourself for $3...just eat one piece of chicken, one piece of broccoli, one tortilla, and "one other thing." Groceries are up $310 per year for American families, but have you tried eating less? Marie Antoinette energy.

In Minneapolis, over 2,500 people have been arrested in the largest ICE operation in American history. Schools are closed. The National Guard is mobilized. Masked federal agents operate without ID. And on January 7th, ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed 37-year-old Renée Nicole Good...a mother of three, poet, and school board member. She was called a "domestic terrorist" within hours. ICE blocked a physician from helping her as she died. Now the DOJ is investigating her widow, not the shooter. Six federal prosecutors have resigned in protest.

Also covered: Trump "joking" about canceling elections, the Department of Labor posting Nazi-adjacent slogans, the Insurrection Act being threatened against American protesters, a death in ICE custody ruled likely homicide, and why 31 Nobel laureates just warned that "the signs of fascism are here."

Plus: why three Yale historians who study fascism for a living just moved to Canada, and what it means when a new Democracy Index says we've "slid well into authoritarianism."

  • Empire in Freefall: Minneapolis, Greenland, and the Road to World War III
    Jan 12 2026

We're eleven days into 2026, and America is speedrunning authoritarianism.

On January 8th, ICE agent Jonathan Ross executed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. She was unarmed and trying to drive away when he shot her three times at point blank range, called her a "fucking bitch" as she died, then walked away while his colleagues prevented a doctor from rendering aid. Within minutes, before anyone knew her name, the President and DHS Secretary labeled her a "domestic terrorist" and declared the shooting justified. No investigation. No accountability. Just character assassination and claims of "absolute immunity."

This isn't isolated. Over 2,000 masked federal agents with no badges or identification have descended on Minneapolis, racially profiling and detaining U.S. citizens. The same day Renee was killed, ICE arrested two teenage American citizens for working at Target while Latino. This is fascism in practice.

But the chaos doesn't stop at our borders. Trump is threatening to annex Greenland by force, potentially ending the NATO alliance. The administration is simultaneously threatening Venezuela, cutting deals with Cuba, and rattling sabers at Iran as nationwide protests threaten the regime.
Are we heading into World War III? Maybe. The tinderbox is built.

In this episode, we break down the execution of Renee Nicole Good, expert analysis from a veteran defense attorney who says this shooting was unjustified, Trump's imperial ambitions in Greenland, Iran's revolution, Cuba's crisis, Venezuela's chaos, the criminal investigation into Jerome Powell, and the U Haul attack on Iranian protesters in Los Angeles.

This isn't hyperbole. This is happening right now, eleven days into the second Trump administration.
Renee Nicole Good's life mattered. Her death wasn't a tragedy. It was a murder.
