Voice of Science Afghanistan continues with Session 4 of our astronomy course, AST100 – Introduction to Astronomy, in partnership with Future Bridge Organization. In this session, we explore the forces that hold the universe together — gravity and motion. We trace the journey from Aristotle's early observations to Newton's laws of motion and universal gravitation, and finally to Einstein's general relativity, which revealed that gravity is not a pull between objects but a curve in the very fabric of space and time. Along the way, we'll see how each breakthrough didn't just change science — it changed how humanity understood its place in the cosmos. This is the fourth session in the AST100 series.

Voice of Science Afghanistan continues with Session 3 of our astronomy course, AST100 – Introduction to Astronomy, in partnership with Future Bridge Organization.

In this session, we explore our cosmic neighborhood, the Solar System. We examine how gravity and motion shape planetary systems, how angular momentum and collisions led to the formation of planets, and how these laws still govern the movement of celestial bodies today.

We also journey through the planets, discovering their unique features and the major space missions that have helped us study them.

This is the third session in the AST100 series.

This episode is part of a special 8-session astronomy course, AST100 – Introduction to Astronomy, delivered through Voice of Science Afghanistan in partnership with Future Bridge Organization.

In Session 2, we begin exploring the night sky and the objects we can observe above us.

What do we actually see when we look at the night sky?

What are stars, and why do they appear so small from Earth?

What are planets, and why do they move differently from stars?

In this episode, we also discuss the celestial sphere, constellations, zodiac constellations, the motion of objects across the sky, and the phases of the Moon.

This session introduces the basic structure of the night sky and helps build the foundation for understanding astronomy.

This is Part 2 of the AST100 special series.
