  • Between Continuity and Transition: How Has Saudi Society Adapted?

There are moments in the history of nations... defining moments that do not merely change the appearance of cities or the shape of the built environment around us, but go further still, reaching into the very core of the human being — the way people think, what they believe, and how they see themselves and the world around them. These are moments that reshape the human being from within, not only from the outside.
Yet moments like these, however necessary or desired, carry within them a profound challenge: how does an entire society — across all its groups and generations — adapt to change on such a profound scale? How do its institutions and individuals absorb this accelerated transformation without losing their balance?
And here the most important question emerges: what endures, when everything around it changes? What remains firm as an identity and an essence, while the forms and details around it continue to shift?
In the first episode of Season Three of the Vision, Culture & Policy podcast (Arabic edition), we are joined by Dr. Khalifa Al-Fadli, a doctor in the social sciences, for a deep and extended conversation on one of the most important questions that Saudi society lives today, and experiences in the details of its daily life.
