  • Just Do It | Pastor B
    Nov 2 2026

It is easy to fill your life with Bible knowledge, church attendance, and Christian content without ever actually living out your faith. James 1:22-25 makes it clear that hearing the Word without doing it is a form of self-deception, like looking in a mirror and walking away having forgotten what you saw. Cultural Christianity, the kind that looks the part without producing real change, has no power to save. God rewards obedience, not attendance. When you root your life in Christ through hearing and acting on His Word, you build on a foundation that holds when the storms of life arrive. The blessing James promises is real, and it is waiting on the other side of your obedience.

  • Slow Down and Listen | Buddy Smith
    Oct 25 2026

James 1:19-21 gives us a simple but challenging pattern for daily life: be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Listening requires humility, and humility reflects the character of Christ. Human anger does not produce God's righteousness, and the story of David, Nabal, and Abigail shows just how costly unchecked anger can be. James calls us to remove the things that fight against God's Word taking root in us, and to receive that Word with meekness. What we plant in our hearts is what grows, and what grows is what comes out under pressure. God's Word is not just moral advice. It is living truth that points us to a Savior and teaches us how to live.

  • The Gullible Skeptic | Pastor B
    Oct 20 2026

God's goodness is not a feeling or a catchphrase. It is a fixed, unchanging truth rooted in who He is. James 1:16-18 makes it clear that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, a God who never shifts, never changes, and never has an off day. Suffering and hardship are not evidence that God has abandoned us. They are often the very tools He uses to shape us. The enemy works hard to plant doubt in our minds, twisting truth just enough to make us question God's character. But there is a crucial difference between the Father of lights and the father of lies. Knowing that difference starts with reading Scripture for yourself, building real community, and anchoring your faith in a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

  • Birth Control | Pastor B
    Oct 13 2026

James 1 confronts one of the most common struggles in the Christian life: blaming God for our temptations and avoiding personal responsibility. God cannot be tempted by evil, and He tempts no one. Temptation originates from our own desires, and sin is conceived when those desires meet temptation and we open the door. The solution is not to manage sin more carefully but to walk by the Spirit, crucify the flesh daily, and abide in Christ. Abiding is the most powerful weapon a believer has against temptation. Sin that is tolerated grows, and sin that is fully grown destroys. The answer is repentance, and today is the day to stop tolerating what is slowly killing you and bring it to the cross.

  • What Are You Boasting About? | Pastor B
    Oct 5 2026

In a world obsessed with status, possessions, and social media validation, it is easy to build your identity around things that will not last. James 1:9-12 challenges believers to rethink where they place their value and what they spend their lives chasing. God has placed an eternal longing inside every human being, and nothing this world offers can fill it. Wealth, success, and recognition may feel satisfying for a moment, but they will always fade. The only boast worth having is found in belonging to Christ. Those who remain steadfast through the trials of life and love God above all else will receive the crown of life He has promised. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The only treasure that truly lasts is knowing Jesus Christ.

  • Let Him Ask | Pastor B
    Sep 29 2026

James chapter one delivers a direct and honest look at what prayer actually requires. God commands us to come to Him, and He gives generously without reproach to all who ask. But there is a condition: we must ask in faith, without the kind of double-mindedness that pulls us back and forth between trusting God and trusting everything else. Unrepentant sin can also create real distance between us and God, blocking the connection we desperately need. Real prayer is not a polished routine. It is honest, unscripted, and brings everything before God without holding back. The access to God is there. The question is whether we will use it.

  • Built by Trials | Pastor B
    Sep 21 2026

Most of us want a life that feels whole and complete, but the path there often runs through our hardest seasons. The Book of James opens with a bold challenge: count it all joy when trials come, not because suffering is pleasant, but because God uses it to build something in us that we could never build on our own. Trials test and purify faith the way heat purifies gold, burning away what does not belong and refining what remains. The goal of this process is steadfastness, and steadfastness leads to maturity. God is not punishing us through difficulty. He is inviting us into transformation. The destination is being complete and lacking nothing, and it is reached by trusting Him through the process.

  • The Gospel | Pastor B
    Sep 18 2026

A growing crisis exists in the church today, and it centers on whether people have truly received the authentic gospel of Jesus Christ. Many are living with a false sense of security, having responded to a counterfeit version of the gospel that lacks the power to save. The real gospel, as Paul outlines in 1 Corinthians 15, is rooted in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. True belief is not merely head knowledge but a heart-level conviction that transforms how a person lives, what they love, and what they pursue. Following Jesus comes with a cost, including sacrifice, suffering, and a willingness to be set apart from the world. The fruit of a person's life reveals whether their faith is genuine, and the Holy Spirit will not leave a true believer comfortable in sin. If your faith feels uncertain, that discomfort may be the Holy Spirit calling you toward something real. Do not ignore it.
