  • The Murder of Kristil Krug: Her Stalker Was Her Husband
    Oct 22 2026

For months, Kristil Krug believed she was being stalked by an ex-boyfriend. She received disturbing messages and threats from someone who seemed to know intimate details about her life. But investigators would eventually uncover something far more sinister: the person terrorizing Kristil was her own husband, Daniel Krug.

On December 14, 2023, Kristil was found murdered in the garage of her Colorado home. Prosecutors said Daniel had created the elaborate stalking campaign, impersonated her former boyfriend, and then tried to mislead investigators after killing her. In 2025, he was convicted of first-degree murder, stalking, and criminal impersonation and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

In this episode of UNHEARD, we break down the stalking scheme, the digital evidence that exposed it, and how the person Kristil feared turned out to be the man living inside her own home.
