Two Ginger Gems is back, bigger, slightly longer, and now dropping every fortnight on Fabulous Friday at Five. It's been a huge week: the Emmys kicked off Monday with Dancing with the Stars nominated for the first time in a decade, and on Tuesday and Wednesday came the two-night Season 35 premiere which absolutely smashed the ratings, including a standout moment from Kate's favorite, Maura Higgins, that James missed because he was running between three productions at once. The American civilian edition of The Traitors also premiered on NBC and James is already hooked. Then there's the sad farewell to Dolly Parton, and James has a story about holding her hand on the Dancing with the Stars dance floor that will make your heart burst. Fall film season looks incredible: I Play Rocky, Digger with Tom Cruise, Wild Nine Horse, and Tenzing are all on the radar. Widows Bay swept the Emmys with 14 wins. Kate has strong feelings about Sydney Sweeney, Project 2025 and women in sport. And the new tarot deck makes its debut...The Wandering Star by Kat Pierce. Good news and communication, everyone. The Gems are back.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, it's still intercontinental. Kate and Mikki back in Hollywood, James in a heatwave in Derby. England beat Mexico in what was one of the best games of the tournament, Norway was stressful, and now they're facing Argentina in the semi-final with the fate of the nation on the line. James finally meets his Queen, Anne Mitchell, Dolly Rawlings from Widows, 40 years in the making, at a matinee in London. The Wes Anderson evening at the Hollywood Bowl was an absolute beautiful mess. Madonna becomes the first female US artist to have number one albums in five consecutive decades, the Rolling Stones release a new single, Line of Duty gets an urgent classic TV recommendation, and the tarot card this week is The Master. Kate thinks it means England are winning the World Cup.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, Kate and Mikki are broadcasting from Palm Springs, James is still in Derbyshire, and between them they have watched almost every World Cup 2026 match, including one of the greatest games Kate has ever seen in her life, Cape Verde vs Argentina. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married in a castle inside Madison Square Garden, Adam Sandler officiated, and Hugh Grant was inexplicably in attendance looking deeply unimpressed. The Bear is finished and Kate is bereft. There's a fabulous 1964 classic film called What a Way to Go! with Shirley MacLaine, Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Dean Martin, Dick Van Dyke and the most astonishing Edith Head costumes you've ever seen. Plus Arrested Development finally gets the recommendation it deserves, James interviewed Shirley MacLaine in her Malibu house and found Warren Beatty's phone number on the fridge, Mariah Carey's lighting demands on American Idol, Kate used to be Cilla Black's lighting fluffer, and Palm Springs gets a getaway guide with vintage shops, restaurants, and where to stay. The card this week is We Are The World, and it couldn't be more fitting.

Recorded on Zoom across two continents!

This week on Two Ginger Gems, World Cup fever, more Marilyn, and the Bear is back. James is broadcasting from a heatwave-ravaged England while Kate and Mikki hold it down in LA, and between them they've watched basically every World Cup match, with a special shoutout to the legendary Scottish fans in Boston. There's the Marilyn Monroe exhibition deep dive, Sleepless in Seattle turns 33, The Bear returns for its final season, the ITV drama Believe Me is a gut punch, and a one-night-only pop-up with pizza legend Chris Bianco was a genuine treat. Plus England's 1,200-year-old Major Oak has died, and Kate finally gets her hands on the tarot deck again after weeks of asking everyone else to pick. The card is The Source.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, it's summer, sports and Rod and honestly, it doesn't get much better than that. The World Cup is finally here, Kate's backing Scotland (the Braveheart team of 2026, until they're inevitably out next week), and the Knicks won the NBA Finals. Rod Stewart at the Hollywood Bowl was everything Paul Simon was not - 25 bangers, not one miss. James has a story about Keanu Reeves on a roof and the Batmobile at Television City. There's a wild Netflix documentary called Maternal Instinct, new TV series Cape Fear with Javier Bardem doing terrifying things Kate finds inexplicably attractive, Point Break gets a classic movie shoutout, and Angry, Raucous, and Shamelessly Gorgeous at the Geffen is worth seeing right now. Plus, the Isabella Blow biopic is finally happening, David Hockney and Gene Shalit have passed, Solvang is the summer day trip you didn't know you needed, and Brighton does something magnificent with Fat Boy Slim and a tunnel full of fascists. The card this week is Isolation, and it's a good one.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, it's the Sweet 16th episode and James is back to a normal colour, well, almost. Cousin Lyn is still in town and she and James took a four-day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada, and Kate tried, and failed, to win Diane Keaton's polka dot Ralph Lauren tie at the Bonham's auction. The Marilyn Monroe exhibition at the Academy Museum is a must-see, Paul Simon at the Hollywood Bowl was beautiful but baffling, the Magic Flute at the Dorothy Chandler is the opera for people who think they don't like opera, and Broadchurch gets a passionate recommendation along with a cautionary tale about the American remake. Plus the George Martin Beatles score book is something extraordinary, Eddie finally gets to pull the tarot card, and a new summer segment is born.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, James went to Phoenix, took a train to the Grand Canyon with his cousin Lyn, who's joining them in the studio, forgot the sunblock was in his pocket the entire time, and is now essentially a lobster. Kate and Mikki went to see Backrooms and she came out genuinely baffled (she means that as a compliment). There's the Queen Elizabeth fashion exhibition at the King's Gallery that you need to know about, open until April 2027, and apparently the best thing of its kind they've ever done. Legends on Netflix with Steve Coogan is the true story you won't believe actually happened, dinner with chef Nancy Silverton was a delicious experience, and Minnie's Moaning Minute has thoughts on the feedback email situation. Lyn pulls the tarot card. It's Totality. Perfect.
