This week on Two Awesome People:

Michael Jackson was a huge part of Don’s childhood. Kelly? Not so much.

    🍪 Buttered toast cookies Recipe:

    Toast Flakes:

    3 slices toasted sourdough bread

    1Tbl unsalted butter

    Wet

    3 1/2 T unsalted, cubed, cold butter

    6 T unsalted butter, browned

1 tsp white miso paste (optional)

    3/4 C. sugar

    1/4 C. brown sugar

    1 egg & 1 yolk

    1tsp vanilla

    Dry

    2 C. all purpose flour

    1/2 tsp baking soda

    1/4 tsp baking powder

    1/4 tsp salt

1/2 C raspberry jam to swirl into the dough

    1 C. White Chocolate Chips/Chunks (optional)

Pulse toasted and butter bread in food processor. Set aside 2/3 of the Toast Flakes for the dough and 1/3 to coat the outside of cookies before baking.

Brown the butter is a small saucepan and then remove from heat and cool for 30 minutes

    • Mix the cubed butter with cooled browned butter, miso paste, sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until creamy.
    • Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
    • Add dry ingredients into wet mixture. Do not overmix
    • Fold in 1/2 the toast flakes you set aside earlier
    • Marble in the jam (don’t mix in)
    • Portion the dough into 1/2 C. balls, roll each dough ball in the remaining toast flake.

Place cookies onto a parchment lined tray and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to 30 hour

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 10-12 minutes. You should have visible browning. Allow to cool on the tray for 5-10 minutes.

  • Artemis II Recap & Compliments That Could Save Your Relationship
    Apr 14 2026

The Artemis II crew just flew 40,000 miles past the moon and back — and we have thoughts. A LOT of thoughts. Plus: can a compliment be an insult? We play the game and things get awkward fast.

In Episode #58, Kelly and Don break down the Artemis 2 mission — four astronauts, one very small capsule, a moon crater named after a lost love, and an astronaut who may or may not have taken maple syrup into space.

Then we get into quiet compliments: those small, specific things someone says that hit harder than any grand gesture. What makes them land? Why do men and women hear them so differently?

Then we play "Quiet Compliment or Backhanded Slam?" — because some things really walk the line. ("You're not as annoying as most people." Compliment? Insult? Both?)

Plus: NASA goes full cat content, Don attempts a moon song (badly), and we wrap with our recommendations for the week.

  • Kind Words In Our Marriage That Hit Brutal
    Apr 7 2026

Are you accidentally insulting your partner without realizing it? Kelly and Don break down the phrases couples say every single day that secretly sting — and rate which ones are truly unforgivable.

This week on Two Awesome People: we got news about an animatronic Olaf taking a nosedive at Disneyland Paris, kimchi doing something wild for your gut health, and the most intense office chair race you've never heard of. Then we get into it — the top unintentional insults couples throw at each other (yes, "you look tired" makes the list), and we quiz each other on whether common phrases are kind, rude, or secretly brutal.

Spoiler: Don says "you look tired" within the first 30 seconds. Classic.

  • Started With Lent…Ended With Gambling | Ep. 52
    Mar 3 2026

Welcome back to Two Awesome People — where medium people talk about new things and pretend we know what we’re doing.

This episode starts with an IKEA orangutan sponsorship (as one does), then spirals into a religious holiday “explosion” featuring Holi, Lent, and Ramadan… with bonus mispronunciations we definitely regret.

Then we hit the real chaos:

    • Kelly updates the world on Punch the Monkey (and the IKEA Jungleskog orangutan shortage)
    • Kelly returns to work while Don thrives as a house husband
    • And we descend into the rise of prediction markets (aka “gambling but make it finance”)
    • Finally: why loot boxes and online games feel like a gateway into gambling for kids
