A proposito di questo titolo
In this episode of TRIBE Talk, we unpack one of the most common—and most confusing—experiences for parents, carers, and professionals: behaviour that appears to come out of nowhere. Through a trauma-informed lens, we explore how triggers linked to past experiences can activate survival responses in the present, even when there is no obvious cause in the here and now.
Grounded in behavioural science and trauma-informed care, this episode reframes “out of the blue” behaviour as meaningful communication. How adults can respond in ways that reduce escalation, build safety, and support long-term regulation rather than inadvertently reinforcing distress.
Episode Highlights:
What trauma triggers are and how they develop
Why behaviour can look sudden, extreme, or unpredictable
Why children often can’t identify or explain their triggers
How adult responses can escalate or de-escalate behaviour
