  • Step Out of the Boat — 10 Times Out of 10
    Jan 14 2026

Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” nImmediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:25-31

Life with Jesus is not easy…it is a calling that comes with tough tasks, persecution, and trials, but it also comes with purpose, huge victories for the Kingdom, contentment, and peace. Jesus wants you to do hard things, embrace the suck, believe in miracles…to step out of the boat when he calls you. How many times have you doubted his call to step out of the boat? This week Mike and Jim talk to Grace Sanders, a college student figuring out how to step out of the boat in an environment hostile to those who do. Dive into this encouraging word to live out your purpose no matter what.

  • "With You, Heart & Soul" — You are a Leader
    Dec 26 2025

1 Samuel 14, tells the tale of Jonathan and his young armor-bearer. Jonathan hatches a crazy plan to climb a mountain and attack a philistine outpost from below…from a disadvantaged position.

Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised men. Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few.” “Do all that you have in mind,” his armor-bearer said. “Go ahead; I am with you heart and soul.” 1 Samuel 14:6-7

Thought his life Jonathan displayed the type of leadership that would inspire a young armor-bearer to trust him, even I. The face of impossible odds. The type of leadership that comes from following after God’s own heart. This week Mike and Jim discuss how to lead by inspiring people towards a common mission/purpose…God’s purpose.

  • Creation for Connection — You are a Craftsman
    Dec 15 2025

“The Statue of an Angel” (1494-1495) was created by Michelangelo out of marble. It is situated in the Basilica of San Domenico, Bologna, as a decorative object in Arco San Domenico. When asked about his inspiration for the piece, Michelangelo said, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” Great artists can look at raw material and see a masterpiece before the work is completed. So too with our God, who breathed life into us and had a picture of his son’s potential in mind. He created to unlock your potential from the marble.

This week Mike and Jim discuss what it looks like to utilize your creative potential to connect with the Father and other Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

  • Warrior Training — The Way of the Sheep Dog
    Oct 22 2025

Retired Army Lt Col, author and West Point Professor, Dave Grossman said, “If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen: a sheep. If you have capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath — a wolf. But what if you have capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizen? Then you are a sheep dog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero’s path.” Think about your skills as a warrior. How would you describe your tendencies in the Soul, Body, and Spirit domains using Grossman’s three tendencies? This week Mike and Jim discuss how Jesus lived the perfect life as a warrior — a true sheep dog in every way. Figure out how you can start walking the heroes path just like Jesus.

  • Cast Aside Shame — Serve Like Jesus
    Oct 14 2025

In Matthew 20:25-28, Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

His command is simple. What is it that get’s in the way of being a servant the way Jesus was? This week Mike and Jim discuss how the Devil uses shame to prevent us from serving like Jesus did. Tune in to hear about biblical principles of service for the Kingdom and practical examples of how to apply those principles.
