In April 2022, the film was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival,where Park Chan-wook won Best Director.The film was released theatrically on 29 June 2022 in South Korea.The film was selected as the South Korean entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards.
