A proposito di questo titolo

Can I be honest with you?” Have you ever had a conversation that starts with those six words and ends with the feeling that something in your world has shifted? That is a DMC - a Deep Meaningful Conversation.

A DMC is the 3:00 AM honesty when the world is asleep, defences are down, and you finally listen differently. Born on a long drive back to the breathtaking city of Norwich, this podcast is a dedicated space for the "proper" talks - the ones without the performance, the pretending, or the polished "hot takes" for the sake of it.

Hosts Jono Godlee and Joe Hackman skip the small talk to explore grounded self-development, creativity, and the power of genuine connection. Whether it's through the lens of Jono’s experience as a neurodivergent creative or the perspectives of our guests—family, friends, artists, and community members - we share the messy bits and the real thoughts that usually only happen off-mic.

From the winding roads of Norfolk to the deep internal shifts of the mind, this is a community for the curious and the honest. We’re looking for meaning in the unlikely places and building a space where everyone feels safe enough to say the things that don't usually make it into everyday life.

It’s time to listen differently. It’s time for a DMC.

  • Time For A DMC - Episode 3: The Power Of Music
    Apr 19 2026

That split second of silence before the first note hits... nothing else compares.

Episode 3 of Time For A DMC is officially LIVE! Today, Jono and Joe are stepping out of the car and into the crowd to explore The Power of Music.

For a neurodivergent brain, a great gig is often the one place where the noise outside finally matches the volume inside. It’s a pure dopamine hit and a collective experience that somehow feels deeply personal.

    In this DMC:

First Gigs: Discussing Bastille, Crowded House, and the "core memories" formed at the barriers.

The Album Experience: Why vinyl forces us to listen to the whole story, from track 1 to 15.

Vocal Mastery: Breaking down the infectious live presence of Sigrid and the vocal precision of Keane's Tom Chaplin.

Emotional North Stars: The lyrics that get us through the rough patches and the tracks that make us feel grateful for the here and now.

"Broken people can get better if they really want to." – Frank Turner. Whether it’s a stadium anthem or a quiet vinyl session, music is the heartbeat of how we connect.

Episode 1: The DebutHosts: Jono Godlee & Joe Hackman

“Can I be honest with you?”

In this debut episode of Time For A DMC, hosts Jono Godlee and Joe Hackman skip the small talk and dive straight into the "proper" conversations. From the 3:00 AM post-club "come downs" at uni to a life-changing drive back to the city of Norwich, Jono and Joe explore how this podcast was born from a simple need for more honesty, curiosity, and connection.

The guys pull back the curtain on the "ADHD Iceberg," discussing the parts of neurodiversity that rarely make it into everyday conversation. Jono shares his journey from a childhood diagnosis to finding his "sweet spot" with medication, while Joe opens up about his own path toward self-discovery and the "vicious cycle" of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD).

    In this DMC, we explore:

    • The ADHD Squiggle: Why getting from Point A to Point B involves 15 different destinations along the way.
    • Masking & Authenticity: The exhaustion of "performing" for a neurotypical world and the relief of finding people who are an "exception to your social battery."
    • The "Knee-Jerk" Reaction: Strategies for navigating RSD and using mindfulness to observe the "traffic" of your thoughts.
    • Why Norwich? How a city can become a "happy place" where the brain finally slows down.

Whether you’re neurodivergent, a fellow creative, or just someone tired of the noise, join us for an unpolished, raw look at the messy bits of life.

It’s time to listen differently. It’s time for a DMC.
