What if I told you that the oil industry was on the edge of collapse and it had nothing to do with renewable energy or climate change?

That's the opinion of petroleum engineer and oil recovery expert Geoffrey Thyne. Geoff is a big fan of renewable energy. He even has solar panels installed on his own home. But renewable energy has very little influence on the oil industry. In this episode, he explains why that is, and why you've probably been thinking about oil (and the oil industry) all wrong.

Nick Petros is the host of the Bad Ideas podcast, so he has plenty of experience with crazy ideas. But today he'll be defending his own crazy idea, and even upping the stakes mid-episode by declaring that eating breakfast kills you faster, or more specifically that everyone should fast to some degree.
