What happens when the people against you have the sword, the soldiers, and the power—but all you have is prayer?
In Acts 12, Herod has the sword, the soldiers, the prison, and the political power. Peter has chains. The church has prayer.
And yet, the outcome is not what you would expect.
This message from Acts 12 reveals how God works when His people face persecution, fear, injustice, and seemingly impossible circumstances. While earthly powers fight with weapons, political influence, and human strength, God is working through the prayers of His people and the unstoppable power of His Word.
Peter’s miraculous deliverance shows us something we desperately need to remember: we don't have to understand how God will answer our prayers—we simply have to trust Him.
If you feel overwhelmed by circumstances, afraid of what powerful people can do, or uncertain whether God is really working, Acts 12 offers a powerful reminder: God is still in control.
The king may have power. The prison may have chains. But neither can stop the purposes of God.
