The story begins with Ruby who was always different. Despite her friendly demeanor, Ruby struggled to make friends. People teased her for being too smart, too quiet, and too weird. She tried to fit in by joining clubs and sports teams, but nothing seemed to work. She always felt like an outsider, and the doom that seemed to follow her around only made things worse. Art is the only place where she feels like she belongs. As a gray rain cloud of a person, she creates dark and abstract pieces that reflect her inner turmoil. She only sketches inanimate objects because she feels like she can't keep anything alive, until one day she decides to sketch a crow… then everything changes…
