  • Embracing the Taboo: An Interview With Ca'Ren Hudson
    Oct 20 2026

In this episode, Stacey and Charity interview Ca’Ren Hudson, therapist and secretary for the Intuitive Clinicians Council (ICC). Ca’Ren shares about how the ICC helps clinicians keep cultural humility and ethical practices as they engage in ancestral or witchy healing work. She explores how practices sometimes seen as "taboo" in the mental health field can help us expand our neural pathways. Ca'Ren, Charity, and Stacey also explore using our witchy gifts, like “The Clairs”, which can also be seen as neuroception.

Ca'ren is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina who focuses on helping individuals and couples explore the most authentic & connected versions of themselves through various modalities blending my intuitive gifts, spiritual technologies and clinical expertise. She works from a soul-centered approach in which she focuses on cultivating an open space for metamorphosis and transformation to occur. Her approach is holistic and integrative, encouraging clients to get to know themselves in new ways, which allows them to fully embody all the parts that make us whole.

Her passion for blending the realms of spirituality, psychology, and sexuality led her to her role as Secretary of the Intuitive Clinicians Council, a non-profit with a mission of legitimizing and restoring the use of Intuition and spiritual practices in mental health and clinical care. She is a Human Design Manifestor, Gemini Sun and moon and Scorpio Stellium.

  • It Cost Dr. Tina Vitolo $11,000 to Clarify the Legality of Integrating Spiritual Work into Therapy
    Sep 29 2026
In this episode, black sheep therapist Dr. Tina Vitolo shares her journey going from a college student who is told by a professor that she should quit the social work program to a best selling author, PhD, and successful therapy business coach. After licensing boards were unable to provide clarification, Dr. Vitolo spent $11,000 and nearly a year of her time determining whether she could integrate witchy practices like tarot, astrology, and energy work into therapy. This conversation will empower any professional who has been afraid to bring their spiritual gifts into the therapy room!Resources in this episode:Ritual candles by Lunam Love The Black Sheep Therapist: Integrating Spiritual & Energy-Based Modalities in Your Clinical Practice Dr. Tina Vitolo About our guest:Dr. Tina Vitolo, DSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker, educator, researcher, and founder of The Black Sheep Therapist® and the Innovative Practitioner Accelerator®. With nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field, she specializes in helping therapists ethically integrate somatic, spiritual, intuitive, and other complementary approaches into psychotherapy without compromising clinical integrity or licensure. After earning her Doctor of Social Work, Dr. Vitolo's research focused on the role of complementary and alternative interventions in clinical social work, leading her to recognize a critical gap between traditional clinical training and the realities of integrative practice. Rather than asking therapists to choose between authenticity and ethics, she developed frameworks that help clinicians ground unconventional modalities in clinical theory, informed consent, documentation, and regulatory standards.Through her trainings, mentorship programs, and professional community, Dr. Vitolo has helped thousands of therapists build practices that reflect who they truly are while remaining transparent, ethical, and professionally defensible. She is known for translating complex legal, ethical, and clinical concepts into practical strategies that allow therapists to practice with greater clarity, confidence, and integrity.Dr. Vitolo is also the author of The Black Sheep Therapist, where she challenges conventional thinking in mental health and advocates for a future in which evidence, ethics, intuition, and innovation can coexist. Her mission is to empower clinicians to stop hiding the work they believe in and instead build practices that honor both science and soul.About the hosts: Stacey Aldridge, LCSW has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years. Sep 15 2026
In this episode, Lisa Wheeler, LPC, shares her experiences recovering trauma memory. She shares the supernatural experiences that shook up her life and started the process, as well as the other experiences that led to her system eventually being able to remember her childhood trauma. She shares about the forms of therapy that were helpful to her on her journey, and the interventions from others that were not helpful. Lisa shares what it is like for her to recover a traumatic memory and the ways she takes care of herself during the process, especially as a therapist. Lisa also shares about the ways her life has changed for the better since she was able to begin this healing process, and the retreats she is hosting to help others find healing too.You can find more about Lisa’s retreats here, and on Instagram and Facebook:Rest and Renewal Retreat: The Home Within, February 22-28, 2027, Montezuma, Costa Ricahttps://www.instagram.com/restandrenewal/https://www.facebook.com/p/Rest-Renewal-61591645838853/You can get in touch with Lisa on her website, www.lisawheelertherapy.comOr by following her writing and healing journey on Substack: https://substack.com/@lisawheeler?utm_source=global-searchResources in this episode:The book Trusting Your Highly Sensitive Self: An Internal Family Systems Path to Healing and Wholeness by Elizabeth Venart About our guest: Lisa Wheeler is a trauma therapist, writer, retreat guide, and an “experiencer”. She was born in Austin, Texas where she lived and worked until the fall of 2022 when she moved to Montezuma, Costa Rica following the tragic death of her 17 year old son, Spencer. Lisa became a therapist after going through her own challenge of spontaneous traumatic memory recovery which began when she was 35 years old in 2008. These memories were accompanied by paranormal experiences which both helped and harmed her at the time. She continues to experience new memories to this day, and has learned how to live cooperatively with the phenomenon. She enrolled in a Master’s in Counseling program in 2011and has worked as a trauma therapist in private practice since 2015. She found her niche in supporting people like herself who have “non-ordinary” experiences like voices, visions, telepathy, and lucid dreaming, among others. Her specialization morphed to include abuse survivors and those folks growing up in narcissistic family dynamics. She also has a passion for supporting teenagers and their parents. She believes the teen years are often the most complicated time for both teens and parents and enjoys educating and supporting families through this unique developmental time. Grief work and bereavement has also been a natural and consistent feature in her work as a trauma therapist. In 2024 she expanded her professional life into writing, a lifelong dream. Lisa writes articles on Substack about her own healing experiences to help give voice and clarity to the experience of living with traumatic memory and loss of a child. She is also currently working on the second draft of her memoir documenting the time period where her memories first returned. In 2027, Lisa will be hosting two retreats in Montezuma, Costa Rica with plans for additional retreats in Costa Rica and Texas. • The Brain Keeps the Score, the Body is the Score card. An Interview with Jodi Silverman, LCSW
    Sep 1 2026
We had the opportunity to speak to Jodi Silverman, LCSW about science and spirituality; trauma responses vs intuition; and her Soul-Woven therapy framework for soul locks. If you have wondered how to tell if something is intuition or trauma, this interview will give you exactly what you need. This episode was truly a joy to record and we think you will love Jodi as much as we do! Resources in this episode:Can Witchcraft Heal Trauma? video by Kelly-Ann MaddoxTry Charity's moon phase journaling: If you can, dedicate a journal to journaling at the full & new moon. At the new moon, set intentions. Take note of what sign that new moon is in. At the full moon, note which sign it is in and go back to the pages you journaled when the moon was new in that same sign. Look at the intentions you set and practice gratitude about how far you have progressed with those intentions. You may also find that you are grateful for intentions that did not come to pass, journal about that as well. About our Guest: Jodi Silverman, LCSW, is a psychotherapist, Brainspotting practitioner, Reiki Master, and nervous system educator who helps people heal through the integration of science and spirituality. Drawing from Polyvagal Theory, HeartMath, Brainspotting, Psychotherapeutic Reiki, and her Soul-Woven Therapy framework, Jodi explores how nervous system regulation, embodiment, and intuitive awareness can support deep healing and authentic living. She is the host of The Spiritually Curious Therapist podcast, where she investigates the intersection of mental health, consciousness, and human potential.
