Can kindness provide real solutions in a polarized and divided culture? If we paid more attention to it, would it make much of a difference? We believe the answer is, "Yes!" But we know we're more effective working together than alone, and something exponentially powerful happens when we do. In each episode, we share kindness stories, opportunities for kindness, and ways we can partner to serve more people.2020 Relazioni Scienze sociali
  • EP087: Pornography Addiction: Why It Happens — and How Freedom Is Possible | Michael Schweiger
    Sep 30 2026

Pornography addiction thrives in secrecy and shame, but freedom is possible.

In this deeply personal episode of Visible Kindness, Ed Squire sits down with Licensed Professional Counselor Michael Schweiger, founder of Restore to Life Counseling, for an honest conversation about pornography addiction, human connection, trauma, relationships, faith and recovery.

Michael explains why simply trying to stop a behavior may not address the deeper roots beneath it and offers practical questions for identifying what pornography is promising and what it is actually taking away.

Ed shares his own experience with pornography beginning in childhood, the shame and secrecy surrounding it, and the remarkable story of the simple prayer that became part of his journey into freedom.

They also discuss marriage, accountability, relapse, compassion instead of condemnation, renewing the mind, Christian faith and why healing often begins when we finally stop hiding.

    About Michael Schweiger:
Michael is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience across mental health, addiction recovery, trauma, youth organizations, churches, school counseling and private practice. He holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary.

  • EP 086: She Lost Her Voice for 5 Years — Then Found Her Purpose | Denise Cesare
    Aug 24 2026

What happens when you lose the very thing your career depends on — your voice?

Denise Cesare is a published author, keynote speaker, and social emotional learning specialist who spent more than 25 years working as a Speech Language Pathologist and educator.

In 2006, Denise developed Spasmodic Dysphonia and lost her voice for five years. What followed was a difficult journey through darkness, faith, self-love, and ultimately a renewed sense of purpose.

In this episode of Visible Kindness, Denise shares how that experience transformed the way she sees life and why she now focuses on helping children and adults recognize their own worth, resilience, and capacity for love.

We also talk about the prayer that inspired her book "Moments in Motion with Love," the emotional struggles she witnessed among students during the pandemic, the healing power of music and mindfulness, and the small acts of kindness that can have an impact we may never fully understand.

Denise shares unforgettable stories from her work with young people — including teenagers learning that they don't have to be friends with everyone to still choose kindness, and one quiet student who taught Denise just how much a simple "good morning" can mean.

Because sometimes we never know who we're reaching.

Keep being kind. Don't stop. It matters.

  • EP 085: I Was Addicted to Porn for Decades
    Aug 18 2026

For decades, Ed Squire lived with a pornography addiction that began when he was just nine years old.

He tried therapy. He attended groups. He tried to stop. But the addiction followed him through adulthood, marriage, and even his years serving as a youth leader in church.

Then one day, while setting up camera equipment for a friend, a simple question changed everything:

    "What can I pray for?"

For the first time, Ed admitted what he had been carrying privately for years.

In this short and deeply personal Ed Solo episode of Visible Kindness, Ed talks candidly about addiction, the pain that can exist beneath it, his own connection between childhood trauma and addiction, and the unexpected 15-second prayer that became a turning point in his life.

This isn't a formula for recovery or a claim that everyone's journey will look the same. It's simply Ed's story of struggle, faith, and finally finding freedom.

Kindness is Strength. Your Story Matters.
