Genesis 14 suddenly drops us into a world of kings, armies, tribute, rebellion, and war. But this strange battle is doing more than giving us ancient history. As the powers of Abram’s world begin to converge on the land, Genesis paints a picture of kingdoms devouring one another while Lot finds himself caught in the middle. In this episode, we step into the political and spiritual world of Abram to see why these kings matter, what the strange peoples they conquer along the way reveal, and how the Battle of the Kings sets the stage for a much bigger statement: no king, nation, god, or power can stop what Yahweh has determined to accomplish through Abram.
