This time of year, when we are between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox (in the northern hemisphere), in the earth-based traditions of my ancestors was a time of reckoning and drawing on your reserves. Winter still has a strong hold on the land, even as we turn towards the Spring. At this time we stop to consider: what food do we need to save to get us through until the next planting and harvest cycles? How do we sustain ourselves through the darkness to come? The light may be growing each day, but how do we make it through the cold and barren time?
This show, recorded on Candlemas, explores the three qualities of the Goddess Brigid: smith crafting, poetry, and healing and how they can help us keep our inner fire burning bright.
