The story of God our Provider. Many are familiar with the story of Abraham and Isaac and the parallels to the story of God sending His Son. Abraham takes his one and only son to Mt Moriah, where Jesus later will be crucified. Isaac carries the wood for the altar, much like Jesus carried His own cross. And while Abraham sees a ram as the substitute for Isaac, God sends Jesus AS the substitute for US! He took on death and the grave for you and for me. And even now, one thing remains the same- God is asking Abraham (and us) to trust the Promiser more than the promise.
