Daily Bible Reading: Matthew 13, read in full from the World English Bible (WEB).

In Matthew 13 Jesus sits in a boat by the Sea of Galilee and teaches the crowds in parables. A sower scatters seed on the path, on rocky ground, among thorns and on good soil, and only the good soil bears fruit, a hundred, sixty or thirty times. He explains that the seed is the word of the Kingdom, and the good soil is the one who hears it, understands it and bears fruit. He tells of wheat and darnel growing together until the harvest, when the angels will gather out all that causes stumbling and the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father's Kingdom. The Kingdom of Heaven starts as small as a mustard seed and works through everything like yeast in dough, and it is worth more than anything we own, like treasure hidden in a field or one pearl of great price. Jesus Himself is that treasure, yet in His own home town they were offended at Him. Today, let His word fall on good soil in your heart.
