I’ve done nearly 150 episodes of SK8LIKEYOU, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt the responsibility of being an interviewer quite like I did during this conversation. My guest for Episode 143 is Madyson Kapture, and this is one of those interviews that reminds me just how far this podcast has come.

We talk about how Madyson got her start in roller skating, what it was like growing up as a skater in Maine, and how different skating culture can be depending on where you’re from.

We also get into her creative side, which goes well beyond skating. From circus arts and clown performance to professional dancing, football halftime shows, and performing alongside some major names in entertainment, Madyson has taken a pretty unconventional path.

But there’s another part of her story that takes this conversation somewhere I haven’t really gone before.

Madyson opens up about her experience in the adult entertainment industry, specifically her time as an OnlyFans model, why she ultimately decided to walk away, and a documentary she’s been working on about that experience. Madyson trusted me with a sensitive part of her story, and I didn’t take that lightly.

I wanted to make sure this wasn’t a conversation that sensationalized her past or reduced her to one chapter of her life. I wanted to understand her experience, give her the space to talk openly about it, and ask the questions that I felt deserved to be asked.

And I’ll tell you, this interview challenged me in ways I hadn’t experienced before. It required a different level of listening, understanding, and responsibility. I’m really proud of this one. Proud of the conversation, grateful for Madyson’s openness, and proud of how much I’ve grown as an interviewer.

More than anything, it’s a reminder that there’s so much more to people than what we might think we know about them. I’ve said it from the beginning. It’s not a skating podcast. It’s a life podcast that happens to feature skaters. And Episode 143 is a pretty good example of exactly what I mean.

What if the one of the best skating events of the year isn’t about the fastest skaters at all? I sat down with Lacey and Brian to break down the second annual Nash Bash, where the real goal is simple: make every skater feel seen, connected, and like the star of the floor.Brentwood Skate Center sets the scene for a weekend that is equal parts culture, music, and community… and if you think you know what a roller event looks like, this one is built to surprise you. The crew talks about why they renamed their creators from VIPs to paparazzi, how they’re designing the event around joy instead of ego, and why the vibe matters just as much as the skating. You’ll discover:1. Why Nash Bash is deliberately built for connection, not just performance. 2. The exact session schedule for Thursday through Sunday, including early arrival details and wristband access.3. Why the floor will never feel like a racetrack all night long. 4. How the event is keeping the energy high with a mix of music, pacing, and surprises.5. What’s changing this year with raffles, group photos, merch, and vendor support.Lacey shares the bigger mission behind the event and why the people having the most fun are the ones worth filming. Brian adds the musical perspective, including how the session will move between tempos so the night feels alive from start to finish. Together, they explain why Brentwood’s culture, cleanliness, lighting, and community make it one of the most unique rinks in the country. We also get into the practical stuff that matters if you’re planning a trip: Friday through Sunday session timing, Thursday’s adult night, the host hotel situation, and why Nashville makes this more than just a skate weekend. If you want a skating experience that feels different in the best possible way, this is the one to circle on your calendar.Perfect for skaters who love event culture, road trip weekends, and the kind of roller rink experience that turns strangers into your people. Nashville is calling, and Nash Bash is the reason to answer.Lacey is one of the organizers behind Nash Bash and a driving force behind the event’s connection-first vision. Brian helps shape the music and energy of the weekend, making sure the skating never feels one-note.
