  • Resilient Presence: The Power of One Small Step
    Aug 26 2026

    You cannot change the past.

    You cannot control other people.

And you cannot know exactly what tomorrow will bring.

But you can decide what you do today.

In Season 4, Episode 27 of The Resilient Mother Podcast, Tiffany Lorraine Galloway welcomes Traci Kasper, founder of One Small Step Walks, for a conversation about Resilient Presence and the power of taking one small step.

One Small Step Walks brings people together to get outside, move their bodies, find community, and overcome what can sometimes be the hardest part of change:

    Simply getting started.

Tiffany and Traci explore why consistency is often confused with perfection—and why missing a day, getting knocked off course, or experiencing a difficult season does not mean you have failed.

Resilience is learning how to come back.

They also discuss movement and mental health, body image, creating sustainable habits, the importance of face-to-face community, and why our increasingly screen-centered lives make meaningful human connection even more valuable.

Sometimes we become so focused on what happened yesterday—or what might happen tomorrow—that we miss the life happening directly in front of us.

Resilient presence brings us back to one question:

What is the next right thing I can do today?

Maybe it is taking a walk.

    Getting outside.

    Calling someone.

    Asking for help.

    Returning to a habit.

Or simply deciding to begin again.

You do not have to fix everything today.

Sometimes you just need to take one small step.

  • Resilient Miracles: From Paralyzed to the Oscars with Adassa
    Jul 29 2026

She walked into the hospital during her callback. She was wheeled out paralyzed from the neck down.

A second round of COVID took her voice. It took her strength. It took her ability to move at all.

Before that, Adassa spent nearly 20 years in music. Four octaves. Songs with Pitbull, Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg, and Daddy Yankee. Writing credits at Warner, Universal, and SONY. Then she walked away from all of it to raise her family — and a YouTube video with about 300 views brought her back.

None of that mattered in the moments she couldn't hold her own children or care for herself. As a devoted, loving mother who used to serve her family, it was her turn to be loved on. She found the miracle in unconditional love and eternal value as a Child of God.

Adassa wrote about that season in her new memoir, Love, Keep Showing Up: Music, Messes and Miracles. Every chapter has a song that goes with it. Her husband produced the album in Nashville, where they live now.

What she came back with is the whole reason I wanted her on this show:

You are a beloved child of God no matter what you face. Your value does not change. Not when your body fails you. Not when you have nothing left to give anyone. Love from above was already there the whole time, and the hardest lessons of this life are what finally let us understand that at depth.

She also learned something I needed to hear as a mother. When she could not be in control of everything, her children came together as a team and served each other. She had been keeping them from that blessing by doing it all herself.

What you can take with you this week:

→ Rocks before sand. Adassa's to-do list used to be all high priority, which meant none of it was. Put God in the day first, then family, then let the small things fill in the gaps. It does not fit the other way around.

→ Let someone serve you. Including your kids. Especially your kids.

→ Protect silence. She used to fill every moment with noise. Now she listens — which is, fittingly, Dolores's whole gift.

One line worth sitting with: "Sometimes that strength could be a smile. Sometimes that strength is just hanging on for another day and knowing that there's still hope."

  • Resilient Identity: The Motherhood Stories We Don't Talk About
    Jun 24 2026

This second half of the conversation goes deeper into the complicated stories many mothers carry quietly. Tiffany and Michelle talk about birth, motherhood, adoption, estrangement, grief, shame, forgiveness, faith, family relationships, and the ache of loving your children through chapters that do not always resolve neatly.

Together, they explore what happens when mothers are judged by one piece of their story instead of being supported through the whole of it. They also discuss the grief that can come with adoption, the pain of estranged relationships, the process of forgiving yourself, and the hope that God can still bring meaning, healing, and redemption into the most complicated places.

This episode is for the mother who has felt alone in her story, the woman learning to forgive herself, the parent navigating strained family relationships, and anyone who wants to better understand the unseen weight many mothers carry.
There is healing when shame comes into the light. There is hope when mothers are met with compassion instead of judgment. And there is power in remembering that even the hardest parts of our stories can become places where God’s grace meets us.
