After a few weeks' hiatus, we're back with our latest edition of The Racing Beat and the timing couldn't be better. This week's episode is with veteran motorsports writer John Oreovicz, whose new book -- "Indy Split" -- will be released this Sunday, the date of the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500. The timing is intentional, as "Indy Split" chronicles the devastating break between the upstart Indy Racing League and Championship Auto Racing Teams back in 1996 that nearly destroyed open-wheel racing in the U.S. Not only is this a fascinating book, our interview with John is also outstanding.
