Healing isn't just about what happened to you. It's also about what you continue to say to yourself because of what happened. Our words have power! They can reinforce the wounds of our past or help us embrace the truth of who we are becoming. Sometimes, the most damaging words aren't the ones others have spoken over us, but the ones we've learned to repeat to ourselves.
You cannot always control what was spoken over your life, but you can begin changing what you speak into your future.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
As you watch this video, I encourage you to pay attention to your inner dialogue. Are your words reinforcing fear, rejection, shame, and defeat? Or are they making room for truth, grace, healing, and restoration?
Remember, positive words don't mean denying your pain. They mean refusing to let your pain have the final word.
Your wounds may be part of your story, but they do not have to define your identity!
