    Welcome to The Personal Cost of a Divided Nation. In this episode we look at Multi-Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural in Muslim Mosques and Communities.   Muslim Americans are racially and ethnically diverse. Roughly (41%) identify as White, (28%) are South Asian, and (20%) are Black/African American) Just as Christianity encompasses multiple denominations (Catholic, Baptist, etc.), Islam includes two major denominations: Sunni (75-90%) and Shi'a (10-13%). Given the mosaic of ethnicities and cultures of major US religions, how integrated are members in general and Muslims specifically in faith, service, and practice. Besheer Mohamed, senior researcher at the Pew Research Center. He is an expert on the views, demographic profile and size of U.S. Muslim communities.
