Christopher Nolan's adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey arrived July 17, 2026 — a $250M Universal Pictures epic starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, Zendaya as Athena, Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, and Charlize Theron. This is the most star-studded cinematic event of the year, and Nolan's first mythology-driven project.
What if I told you the whole idea of the Odyssey means a Jew returning home - whether to his own nature or to a creative inventive force of what he ought to be ? A transformation of the self , a growth of the soul.
Two ideas of "returning home". Two ideas of Teshuva. Two complementary ideas of what it means to come home after the battle (not of Troy) but of Life - the ideas about coming home to who you are and who you are meant to be.
