  • Trump's Solen Valor and a Letter to Norway S5E8

Today we hear from Kaylee from Newark, New Jersey writes: Well, Trump finally got his Nobel Peace Prize. Unearned, of course, and the Nobel Committee has clearly stated that, regardless of the actual winner, Machado, giving him the prize, he will not be credited with the win. I saw pictures of him taking the prize, and I must say I was so embarrassed. He looks pathetic, and the world must be laughing their assess off. I’m surprised he didn’t use his infamous Sharpie to write his name on it. As Dr. Scott has said, this peace prize is worth less than the paper it’s printed on. Although I have not heard any commentary from the right even addressing this “event”. Do you think they are as embarrassed as the sane people are? If the peace prize is a bargaining chip, should it be abolished altogether?

Kate from Norman, Oklahoma writes: I read a disturbing article in CCN that reported that Trump told the Prime Minister of Norway that since he didn’t win the peace prize, he is no longer bound to “consider peace”. He even suggested that not winning the peace prize was the reason why he is taking a hard line on Greenland. Now I know all of this is crazy talk from a mentally disturbed and incompetent person, yet, looking past the Greenland issue, does this statement about not being obligated to peace have further-reaching possibilities? Iran, Greenland, other places in the world?

  • The DOJ and Jerome Powell S5E7 01.19.2026
    Jan 19 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, we have a question from Brett, who lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, writes: It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the weaponization of the Department of Justice against Trump's enemies. Next up, Jerome Powell of the FED. I saw he addressed this investigation in a recorded statement. To date, prosecutions against Comey, Letisha James, and others have been dismissed for lack of evidence. Seasoned prosecutors are resigning because they don’t want to put their law licenses on the line for malicious and frivolous prosecutions. A judge has invalidated warrants signed by Elena Habba, who has been adjudicated to have illegally assumed the role of U.S. Attorney. Now, Pam Bondi is in hot water, even though she is the biggest enabler in the Cabinet. This is a shit show. But my question is, can the US Department of Justice ever recover from all this turmoil? Can they ever be trusted again? What do you guys think it would take to fix this mess?

  • Greenland, Iran and the never-ending wars S5E6 01.16.2026
    Jan 16 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today we have a question from Tricia from Jersey City, New Jersey, writes I recently saw that this Greenland debacle is starting to escalate. Germany is deploying 2 warships to Greenland, and the EU is discussing establishing a 100,000-strong joint military force. Why do you think Europe is taking these actions, and what might be the consequences, if any, for the US if they stay this course? Are they standing up to us, their ally? And now we are threatening to attack Iran. What the hell is going on? Are we doomed to be constantly at war with someone?

  • A killing in Minnesota S5E5 01.14.2026
    Jan 15 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, our question comes from Dante from Council Bluff, Iowa, who writes: The tragic shooting of Renee Good is on everyone's mind. We are still getting more information regarding this tragic death. The Administration is painting this as justified and making Ms. Good, not the victim, but the reason for her death. I think this narrative is shameful, but there are outlets that are promoting this account of events. On January 6th, when the young woman was killed while storming into the capital, the far right painted her as a martyr. Even though what she was doing was illegal. But the right is now painting this woman, who was clearly murdered as a terrorist. I guess my question is: Is America as we once knew it dead? Have we become so polarized that we cannot see this for the tragedy that it is? Does the panel believe there will be any accountability for the continued violence against citizens who oppose this President?

  • The Bondi Mass Shooting S5E4 01.12.2026
    Jan 12 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, we are taking a recording from the end of 2025 to discuss the mass shooting on Bondi Beach in Australia.

Mandy, who lives in Sydney, Australia, writes, Well, it looks like gun violence has come back to my country's shores. As I am sure you are aware, we had a horrific mass shooting at Bondi Beach this past week. As I write this, we know of at least three dead and many more injured. Once again, this seems to be directed at the Jewish community in my country. Our PM Albanese has classified this as an Islamic terrorist attack. Although Australia has had past incidents of mass shootings, it’s been almost 30 years since the last incident. With the conflict in the Middle East still uncertain, the xenophobia currently in the US and Europe, and the general madness seemingly spreading around the world, do you see this as a trend? Should the Jewish communities around the world be concerned? Do you see any other communities that might become targets?

  • A new Monroe Doctrine for the 21st Century, Could Venezuela actions benefit Americans, and Venerable Monks walking for peace S5E4 01.09.2026
    Jan 9 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, we will answer 3 email questions and present one feel-good story that should serve as an example for Americans.

Our First email is from Tyler from Los Angeles, California, who writes, I’m starting to hear a lot about Trump bringing back the Monroe Doctrine as the new foreign policy of the US. I know, I know, I should remember from history what this is, but can you please refresh my memory? How would a policy from the early 19th century play out in the early 21st century? Is it even possible to adopt the Monroe Doctrine in today’s geopolitical climate? I’d also like the panels take on the charges being brought against Maduro. Do these seem legitimate?

Next, we hear from John, who lives in Mount Vernon, Virginia, writes: OK, even the most Trumpy Trump supporter must see that the attack on Venezuela has no benefit for the average American citizen. We have people being kicked off healthcare coverage due to rising premiums. We have a higher unemployment rate than we’ve seen in decades. Grocery prices are outrageous. Trump vetoed a bipartisan clean-water bill for Colorado because they didn’t like his policies. (i.e., Boebert or Colorado wouldn’t take her name off the bill that demanded the release of the Epstein files). I saw a poll that said 75% of Americans believe Congress should have been consulted before this action was taken. I think I’m seeing cracks in Trump's support. Now that he has taken these legally questionable actions, what, if anything, can anyone, including Congress, do?

And finally, a story that shows there is still the potential for good.

Mike, who lives in Decatur, Georgia, writes: I know you’ll be discussing the recent events in Venezuela. I wanted to highlight a more positive story that we don’t see much in the mainstream media, but that is a major story in local news. The Buddhist Monks Walk for Peace. I’m not sure if the panel is aware, but 20 or so Venerable Monks from Texas are walking from Texas to Washington, D.C., to promote mindfulness, peace, and harmony. Communities are all coming out to welcome these monks. Police

  • What would the US in charge of Venezuela look like and what is the rest of the world saying or doing? S5E2 01.07.2025
    Jan 7 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

So today we continue our conversation about the recent events in Venezuela, and our listeners have two excellent questions.

Sandra from Dallas, Texas writes: Trump is claiming that the US is now in charge of Venezuela and that we are going to be running that country. Dr. Mark has always said that invasion is easy, occupation is the hard part. I know the Maduro regime wasn’t popular, but do you think the Venezuelan people are going to lie down and accept being a colony of the US? And although I’ve heard no details as to how the US will “run” Venezuela, is this even possible? What do you think this might look like, and what challenges and or dangers do you see for American troops managing this situation? Trump can’t run our country; how does anyone think he can run a country that is such a mess as Venezuela?

And Tammy from Syracuse, New York, writes We have heard very little from the rest of the world following the US attack on Venezuela. What do you think might be the world's reaction once the dust settles? Dr. Scott theorized that Trump is setting up conditions under which the US, China, and Russia carve up the world into spheres of influence. I’m starting to hear more along these lines in mainstream media. Yet, some outlets are saying this might send a message to Putin and Xi Jinping to behave themselves. Do you think this is a reasonable assessment? Or do you think this is something Greenland and the other territories Trump has mentioned, Colombia, Mexico, etc., should be more concerned about?

  • Venezuela, Regime Change or Oil Grab S5E1 01.05.2026
    Jan 6 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Welcome to Season 5 of the Nova Society! Today, we hear from Nigel from Orlando, Florida, who writes: I’m sure your mailbag is getting blown up with questions about the US attacking Venezuela and the arrest of President Maduro. So, I guess the obvious question would be, what is the panel’s reaction to this development? You’ve talked about how this type of action might be about regime change, but Trump is leaving the Vice President in place, so is this really a regime change? Trump seems to be talking only about oil, nothing about these drugs, which was how this was framed as starting in the first place.
