  • There’s That Jefferson Airstream Again!
    Apr 22 2026

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the enterprise’s 1960s Airstream trailer served as a critical central command center for healthcare professionals in the field and enabled some 15,000 people to receive COVID testing. When stewardship of the Airstream shifted to the enterprise Office of Community Health & Impact in the summer of 2024, it brought about an opportunity to reinvent and redesign it in a fashion that helps Jefferson meet people where they’re at.

With an innovative team from across the enterprise guiding its future, the latest spark for those efforts came in the form of a spring special topics course which brought students from various disciplines together to ideate renovations to the Airstream, presented to leadership, and then support its physical reinvention into the future.

In this episode of the Thomas Jefferson University News podcast, we hear from architecture, interior design, textile design and construction management students involved in that design proposal process, the faculty members who guided their efforts and members of the enterprise leadership team who were beyond impressed with the results presented to them in March.

  • A Conversation with the Rams Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coaches
    Sep 4 2025

Accompanying the start of the 2025-26 academic year at Thomas Jefferson University is the start of student athletes on our fall sports teams launching their quest for greatness. Sure, there are a lot of new faces on campus, as is the case every year, but both the men's and women's Rams soccer teams are also establishing new paths forward.

While men's coach Jason Rocha was both a player and assistant coach here, this marks his second year at the helm of a program which saw his predecessor set the all-time program record for career wins. On the women's side. Michelle Jacquette is entering her first year as coach of a team that's fresh off its best-ever campaign in program history.

In this episode of the Thomas Jefferson University News podcast, we sat down with both coaches to discuss among many things. How they're acclimating to their new roles, their outlooks for the upcoming season, the state of the sport in the region, their desire to forge relationships with people and soccer programs in the community, and of course, the Jefferson community heading over to the Ravenhill campus to watch their home matches.
