A proposito di questo titolo
In 175 BC, the Seleucid king Antiochus IV Epiphanes ascended the throne, and the religious leadership of Israel was about to change forever.
High Priest Onias III would be displaced by his own brother, Jason, who purchased the office through an extraordinary financial arrangement. But the corruption didn't end there. Political rivalries, stolen Temple treasures, and murder would soon threaten Jerusalem's sacred institutions.
And then came something even more devastating.
In this Premium installment of The 400 Silent Years, we examine the persecution of the Jewish people, the desecration of God's Temple, the sacrifice of forbidden animals, and the chilling parallels between these events and the prophecies of Daniel.
We'll also examine why Jesus referred to the abomination of desolation nearly two centuries later—and what these events reveal about the growing crisis surrounding Israel's priesthood.
