In this episode of The Mountain Top Experience Podcast, Kevin, Carlos, and Dave sit down with award-winning Christian fiction author Sarah Hanks for a conversation about faith, family, writing, and the unexpected ways God redirects our lives. Sarah describes herself as an "extroverted introvert," and her journey with Christ began with an equally unexpected turn. Her mother sent her to a church youth meeting she didn't particularly want to attend. Once she got there, she didn't want to leave. Sarah shares some of the highs and lows of following Christ and talks about life with her husband and their ten children, most of whom joined their family through adoption. Along the way, she discovered that ministry doesn't always look the way we expect it to look. For Sarah, one of those discoveries came during a difficult season with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Illness changed what she could do, but it also helped change the way she viewed her writing. What had once been something she did on the side became a ministry. Sarah talks with the guys about that journey, her writing process, and why she believes fiction can do far more than simply entertain. Today, Sarah is a multi-award-winning author of Christian fiction whose stories explore hope, healing, freedom, history, and the transforming work of Christ. Her books include the Mercy Series, the Sisters in Arms collection, the Time Sailors series, and stand-alone novels such as New Creations. Her novel Fall Back and Find Me draws directly from her own experience with POTS through a character struggling with chronic illness. Learn more about Sarah, her books, upcoming releases, and her writing at Sarah-Hanks.com. Sarah's books are available through Amazon and other major booksellers. Her titles can also be found through Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Books-A-Million, Kobo, Audible, Hoopla, and other retailers in various print, ebook, and audiobook formats. It's a warm, funny, and honest conversation about meeting Jesus, raising a very large family, living through seasons you didn't choose, and discovering that sometimes the ministry God gives you isn't the one you expected.

    Episode Description:

The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 57. - You Gotta Have a Bible in One Hand and a Cup of Cold Water in the Other with Dale Twigg

What does it look like to faithfully preach the Word while compassionately serving people where they hurt the most?

In this episode of The Mountain Top Experience Podcast, the hosts welcomes Dale Twigg, a graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary, author, poet, musician, hospice chaplain, and missionary. Dale's life has been shaped by a simple but profound conviction. Biblical truth and practical compassion belong together. As he says, "You gotta have a Bible in one hand and a cup of cold water in the other."

The conversation explores how years of serving both the dying and the desperately poor have shaped Dale's understanding of ministry. Hospice care continually reminds him that every life has eternal value, while missionary work keeps him grounded in the realities of human need around the world. Together, those callings have given him a unique perspective on faith, suffering, hope, and what it means to truly love people in Christ's name.

Dale also shares the remarkable story of God's call on his life, a testimony that reveals how the Lord prepares and directs those He chooses for His service. Along the way, he reflects on poetry, music, and the role of creativity in expressing the hope found in Jesus Christ.

As a special part of this episode, Dale reads his moving poem "The Farmer's Lament" from his book DESERT DREAMS: of Faith, Hope, and Love. The collection brings together original poems, songs, and thoughtful quotations that explore the enduring themes of faith, hope, and love while pointing readers to the peace found in Jesus Christ.

Whether you're involved in ministry, caring for a loved one, wrestling with God's calling, or simply looking for encouragement, this conversation offers a refreshing reminder that truth and compassion were never meant to be separated.

    Episode Description:

The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 56. - 99 Songs About Jesus with Yvonne Hartman

How do you write ninety-nine songs about Jesus without running out of things to say?

In this episode of The Mountain Top Experience Podcast, hosts Kevin, Carlos, and Dave welcome singer, songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader Yvonne Hartman for an encouraging conversation about faith, music, and the creative journey God has led her on.

Yvonne shares how she came to know Jesus Christ and how that relationship eventually grew into a ministry of writing and performing Contemporary Christian music. She also offers thoughtful insight into her philosophy of leading worship, explaining how authentic worship points people to Christ rather than to the person on the platform.

The conversation then turns to songwriting as Yvonne describes her unique collaborative writing process and the remarkable story behind completing 99 Songs About Jesus—a project born from a desire to honor Christ through music.

As a special bonus, Yvonne performs her 99th song about Jesus live during the episode, giving listeners an intimate glimpse into the heart behind her music and ministry.

Whether you're a worship leader, songwriter, musician, or simply someone who enjoys hearing how God works through ordinary lives, this episode will encourage your faith and remind you that every song has a story—and every story can point to Jesus.

Learn more about Yvonne Hartman, her music, ministry, concert schedule, and resources at YvonneHartman.com. Her ministry is dedicated to sharing the Gospel through original Contemporary Christian music that inspires hope, faith, and spiritual growth.
