It's October, and at the playground, everyone has had one treat. That's the rule. But behind the squeaky swing, at the edge of the woods, there's a tree with candy growing right out of its branches. Red ones. Yellow ones. Chocolate with caramel inside.
Tonight: every time someone asks for one more, the tree gives it to them. And the path home gets a little farther away. Maya, Bea, Twiggy, and little Milo are about to meet the biggest tree in the whole forest. It only knows one word. More. And Maya learns that wanting another isn't the same as needing another.
Maya's warning: this one starts sweet. It doesn't stay that way. Find a hand to hold.
