In this video, I set the record straight about whether dividend paying whole life insurance is an investment or not.

The simple answer is no, whole life insurance is not an investment.

It's definitely a superior alternative savings vehicle and an incredible way to save and store capital.

What it's not is some "secret underground income investment" like the author of the book that I mention describes it as.

While I love high cash value dividend paying whole life insurance, I don't like inaccurate and misleading representations that create unrealistic expectations about what whole life insurance is and what it can do for us.

Cash value whole life insurance is already amazing. No need to overhype it!

I've heard IUL agents make some pretty wild and bold claims.

But this one is definitely at the top of the due to its pure absurdity.

This agent believes that as a general rule 99% of whole life insurance policies should be replaced with IUL - Indexed Universal Life, simply because they show more income on the illustration.

That's it. That's the only explanation he gives.

Pretty shocking statement to make if you ask me.
