What happens when Hollywood takes a true story and makes it even more terrifying? Well, turns out the real-life stories might be the scariest part.

This week, we’re diving into the true nightmares behind some of the most iconic demonic horror movies, including The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Haunting in Connecticut, and The Conjuring.

From alleged possessions and unexplained activity to murder, questionable evidence, and stories that might have been a little too good to be true… we’re getting into what actually happened behind the movies we know and love.

So grab a blanket, turn on a light (because we’re not trying to be brave here), and settle in for another Archive Entry. Because sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction… and sometimes the scariest thing in the room is a person trying to make a quick buck.

As always, we’re here to preserve the stories, not prove or disprove them. Happy nightmares!

Archive Entry 003: Cryptids of Kentucky

In this episode of The Midnight Archives, we’re opening the files on Kentucky’s strangest cryptids and unexplained creatures.

From the Pope Lick Monster and Demon Leaper in Louisville, to the Milton Lizard, Mothman, Hellhound of Pike County, Kelly-Hopkinsville Goblins, Beast of Land Between the Lakes, Spottsville Monster, Bigfoot, and more, we’re traveling across Kentucky to explore the stories behind these legendary creatures.

Some have documented sightings and named witnesses. Others live somewhere between folklore, local legend, and the unexplained.

So turn off the lights, settle in, and open the Archive with me.
