  • Presenting: DEADWOOD
    Feb 21 2026

While our kickstarter is running, we figured we'd share some other shows we love!

DEADWOOD is a horror anthology podcast centered around an eldritch god along with several other stories featuring immortal entities and ghosts, both literal and metaphorical. Some stories are more standalone than others, but all focus on themes of grief, betrayal, familial love, hope, identity, survival, queerness, mental illness, and what it means to be different when the world dies around you.

It features excellent writing, and an incredible cast and crew, including Rhys Tirado, who plays Tinker in The Mechadova Engine. It is created by Saniyah Hill, a talented black and queer creator. If you're looking for some horror this February, give it a listen! Here is the full second episode: "Reopen".

  • Presenting: Sidequesting
    Feb 24 2026

While our kickstarter is running, we figured we'd share some other shows we love!

Sidequesting is about Rion, a budding adventurer who’s willing to help out just about anyone, as long as they’re not being asked to deal with the scary wizard everyone keeps talking about. Each episode follows a new sidequest of Rion’s as they travel from town to town, meeting new people and doing new things. It pulls from classic tropes across fantasy stories, but subverts them. It’s a fun, light-hearted, and exciting adventure.

On a personal level, Sidequesting is one of the most comforting podcasts that I, Lumi Oakes, have ever listened to. It is incredibly sweet, and captures a particular nostalgic feeling that I rarely experience. I absolutely recommend it if you're looking for some comforting fantasy, with wonderful characters and a vibrant world.

You can listen to episodes of Sidequesting in any order. This is episode 11, Honor Among Thieves, where Rion gets a crash course in heisting.

  • Presenting: Vigil
    Feb 26 2026

While our kickstarter is running, we figured we'd share some other shows we love!

Set in a future similar to our present, Vigil takes place in a world where superhero conglomerates have taken charge of the health and safety of the general population. The podcast starts when investigative journalist, Maria Kennedy, sets out to do a special report on the life and career of recently deceased support hero, Vigil. Maria gets more than what she bargained for when her investigation leads her to uncover some of the super heroic industry’s darkest secrets.

On a personal level, as Lumi, Vigil is another show I've personally loved listening to so far. I absolutely adore its initial in-universe framing device, and Vigil is an instantly likeable character you want to learn more about. It puts a unique spin on the superhero world, while playing with recognizable tropes I adore. In addition it has been created by the talented Adam Qutaishat, who you may encounter in The Mechadova Engine.

    Shownotes:

Vigil Part 1: Lush Part 1 was directed, edited, and scored by Adam Qutaishat. It was written and performed by Hayley San Fillippo as Maria Kennedy, Adam Qutaishat as Vigil, Dennis Lewis as Urgent, and Cereyna Bouganeau as the Unnamed Hero, with Voice Over by Shayne Patrick. Marketing by Laila Sahir.
