None other than THE Rob Bell joins today's episode with Elle. Rob has been super formative in Elle's life with connections going back to videos during her teenage years up to his most recent fiction writing: the "Where'd You Park Your Spaceship" series, which Elle can't recommend more highly, although getting to reading it she had to overcome the spaceship themed title (and she's so glad she did!).

Joy was discussed (so naturally they talked about grief!).

They discussed many other things including, but not limited to:

• Calling: how to find the next thing
• Doing the work you love
• Plays
• Music
• Soul reclamation
• Loving and integrating our earlier selves
• Punching ourselves in the face and looking for fists
• Stories work for a while and then they don’t
• Being shrewd
• Changing setups; life as fluid
• Healthy living needs to consider sustainability of our behaviors
• Weary is a spirit and soul fatigue and leads to despair
• Despair can masquerade as existential crisis when it’s just burnout
• What feeds your soul
• Programming of the world confusing love of self and care of self with selfishness
• Gospel of denial
• Loving the world starts with loving yourself
• The unique signature and resonance of grief
• The power of both grieving and ungrieved grief
• The connection between grief and gratitude
• Anger as fuel
• How awesome it is to be human!
• How emptying out your closet and giving away a carful of belongings is a high
• The writing process
• Loving bikes

In this episode, host, Elle Bottrell discusses the power and lost art of letter writing. In particular, she discusses the dynamic power of writing or recording letters to yourself - letters to love, notice and celebrate growth, hype, encourage, and care for yourself.
Have you tried letters to yourself?
Enjoy!
