  • #8: Matthew Talbert—Moral Responsibility, Blame, War Crimes, and Doctrines
    Oct 26 2021

Hello beautiful people, it’s Krish Kodali, and welcome back to another episode of The Kodali Manifesto.

My guest today is Matthew Talbert.

Matt is a Professor of Philosophy at West Virginia University and a senior researcher at Lund University in the Lund-Gothenburg Responsibility Project.

His work on moral responsibility is largely focused on responsibility and moral understanding and knowledge and its role responsibility practices.

He is also the co-author of War Crimes: Causes, Excuses, and Blame and Moral Responsibility: An Introduction

In this conversation, we delve into the topics of blame, doctrines, and war crimes. We also cover a case study of a 100-year-old Nazi who was recently prosecuted. Matt is an eloquent speaker who is able to really put thoughts into words. While speaking with him I noticed just the level of consideration he puts into thoughts really thinking about different perspectives.

I really hope you enjoy this conversation.
