Drummer Franklin Vanderbilt spent 15 years playing with Lenny Kravitz, worked with Robby Krieger of The Doors, and has shared stages and studios with everyone from Chaka Khan to Stevie Wonder. Now he's stepping out front with his debut album Inside My Silence — an album he had to live 20 years to write. In this episode of The Inner Circle On Air, he joins Mike in the studio to talk creative ownership, the LOCK Theory, staying authentic when everything is going artificial, and the real reason it took two decades to make his first record. He also tells the story of a childhood that gave him no choice but drums — crawling to his mother's pots and pans before his father bought him his first orange Ludwig kit — and the moment his godfather looked at him and said, "You're a rock drummer, not a jazz drummer. Get in the car." Topics covered: playing with Lenny Kravitz, Robby Krieger and The Doors, Chaka Khan, Stanley Clarke, Stevie Wonder · the LOCK Theory (Listening, Observing, Comprehension, Knowledge) · ownership as the name of the game in music · the making of Inside My Silence with producer Alan Parsons and a guest list of legends · the album photo shoot with iconic rock photographer Henry Diltz on LA's 6th Street Bridge · the "Thank God for Rock and Roll" brand · why AI can't replace the human soul · and a full-circle return to Chicago to perform on WGN.

From crashing his way into Grease thanks to his mom Arlene Dahl and a chance meeting at the Governor's Ball after the 1977 Academy Awards... to beating out Harry Hamlin for Lance on Falcon Crest at just 21... to Stephen J. Cannell handing him the Renegade role on a motorcycle that made his young son the happiest kid in school — Lorenzo shares the real stories behind five decades in Hollywood. And then there's the part most people DON'T know: when the phone stopped ringing, Lorenzo walked away from acting and spent 10 years as a commercial helicopter pilot — flying tourists over the Grand Canyon and promising his chief pilot he'd turn down any acting job that conflicted with the flight schedule. He never broke that promise. This one's got it all: his legendary parents (Fernando Lamas, Arlene Dahl, stepmom Esther Williams), why he almost became a veterinarian instead, martial arts since 1979, his magical A-frame house in Laurel Canyon, being a dad to six kids (with his now-famous daughter Shayne), his 40 years with the World Children's Transplant Fund, and the words of wisdom he leaves us with: "Every day above ground is a good day."

The ocean is huge. It's dark, it's scary. It's passion, it's ambition. For Team USA men's para-surf co-captain Jacob Pacheco, the water is also where he glued his broken pieces back together. Doctors predicted he'd be wheelchair-bound by 16. Instead, he spent 17 years chasing Team USA across 7 different sports, waited 7 more to make the team in 2023 — and now he surfed his way into the history books as a prone surfer. This one goes deep into adversity, advocacy, boundaries, and the power of saying "No."
