Have you ever prayed for direction, then immediately started trying to figure everything out yourself? You're asking God what to do, but your mind is already running through every option, every problem, and everyone else's opinion.

Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. But what does that actually look like when you need an answer?

In this teaching, Travis Lee Peters shares how to become more aware of the Holy Spirit living in you and recognize the difference between your own thoughts and His inward leading. Through Scripture and personal examples, you'll learn why hearing from God doesn't have to involve an audible voice or a dramatic experience. Sometimes, it begins with a quiet inward knowing that becomes clearer as you pray.

In this Bible study, you'll learn:
    • What it means to trust God with your heart instead of relying on your own understanding.
    • Why a seemingly good idea isn't automatically direction from God.
    • How to quiet your soul and make room to listen.
    • How circumstances can pull your attention away from God's Word.
    • Why feeding your spirit helps you become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
    • The difference between collecting opinions and seeking wise, godly counsel.
    • How to seek God's direction for your business, calling, and everyday decisions.

If you've been asking, "How do I hear from God?" or "How do I know if this is the Holy Spirit or just me?" this message will help you approach those questions with greater clarity and confidence.

At Increase Bible Academy, we help everyday believers understand the Bible, build strong faith, and apply God's Word to the situations they're actually facing.

A bill is coming due. Something is happening in your family. You're facing a situation you don't know how to fix. Before you realize it, your mind is running through every possible thing that could go wrong.

How do you interrupt that cycle and respond in faith?

Philippians 4:6–7 gives us instructions: don't worry about anything, pray about everything, tell God what you need, and thank Him for what He has done. Then His peace will guard your heart and mind.

But what does that look like when the same concern comes back five minutes later?

In this teaching, we talk about how to put those instructions into action, recognize thoughts that pull you away from trusting God, and develop the habit of bringing your attention back to His Word.

    You'll learn:
    • How worry tries to undermine your trust in your heavenly Father.
    • How to apply Philippians 4:6–7 when you feel overwhelmed.
    • What it means to cast your cares on God and leave them with Him.
    • How to take thoughts captive instead of rehearsing everything that could go wrong.
    • Why renewing your mind helps you respond in faith.
    • The connection between humility, trusting God, and releasing your cares.
    • Why facing another challenge doesn't mean you've failed.
    • How to care about people without carrying worry about them.

We also lead you through a spoken prayer to release your cares to the Father and respond to worry with faith.

    Scriptures discussed include:
    Philippians 4:4–7
    Matthew 6:25–34
    John 14:27
    2 Corinthians 10:5
    Romans 12:2
    1 Peter 5:5–8
    James 4:7

This teaching is part of our Worry Free Challenge, where we're learning to apply God's Word to everyday situations and build the habit of trusting Him.

If we haven't met yet, I'm Travis Lee Peters. Along with my wife, Rachel, I help believers understand the Bible, build strong faith, and apply what they're learning to the situations they're actually facing.

  • The Answer Is in You: Learning to Hear God's Wisdom

In this Bible study, Travis Lee Peters teaches from 1 Corinthians 2 about the Holy Spirit, the mind of Christ, and how believers can know the things God has freely given them.

Many Christians have been taught to think God is mysterious, distant, confusing, or hard to hear from. But Scripture says God has given us His Spirit, and His Spirit reveals the deep things of God. You do not have to live confused, disconnected, worried, or unsure of what to do.

You'll also learn why it matters to study the Word topically when you're facing a specific situation. If you're dealing with financial pressure, health issues, worry, fear, or confusion, you need to build your faith with Scriptures that speak directly to what you're facing.

If you've been saying, "I don't know what to do," "I'm confused," or "I don't hear from God," this lesson will help you renew your mind and start believing what the Word says about the Spirit of God living in you.

    In this lesson, you'll learn:

    - Why God is not a mystery to His children
    - How the Holy Spirit reveals the deep things of God
    - Why you can know the things God has freely given you
    - What it means to have the mind of Christ
    - Why you should stop saying you're confused
    - How to ask God for wisdom when you need direction
    - Why worry makes it harder to hear clearly
    - How to study the Word for the specific area where you need faith

    Scriptures referenced:
    1 Corinthians 2:9-16
    1 Corinthians 3:16
    1 Corinthians 6:17
    1 Corinthians 6:19
    James 1:5

In this teaching, Travis Lee Peters explores 2 Corinthians 1:20, Psalm 37:3–4, Philippians 2:13, and John 15:7–8 to help you build a biblical understanding of prayer and God's character.

What does it mean that God's promises are "Yes" in Christ? How does delighting yourself in the Lord relate to the desires of your heart? And why did Jesus connect asking and receiving with abiding in Him and keeping His words in you?

We'll examine these passages, challenge assumptions that can weaken your confidence in prayer, and talk about following God's leading one step at a time.

Travis also shares how he and Rachel trusted God through their desire for a new home and for Rachel to become a stay-at-home mom. These personal testimonies illustrate their journey of faith, obedience, and recognizing God's faithfulness over time.
